Yes people cannot stand a super talented woman who knows her worth and demands the rightful remuneration and recognition for her work. People have no issues if a man is ambitious or a smart businessman. But they lose it if a woman is ambitious, competitive and a hard nosed negotiator and has strong business sense, does not step in shadows.

Lata paved way for royalties, better remuneration for singers and awards for singers. She knew it was songs that used to influence BO fate of a film back then when there was no media or marketing and it was usually songs that attracted people to theatres or made actors memorable.

Smart woman way ahead of her time who knew how to get her due she deserved and earned for herself.

She was the best singer for 70 years, her songs were amazing and heart touching. such a great singer and nice human

I don't really know what to say, was hoping for first few minutes this would somehow be a hoax but it was not. It is going to be extremely difficult to listen to her songs, atleast for the next few days.

How do you define somebody who has been a permanent fixture in your life but you have never met them . There might be very few days in my remembered life when I wouldn't have listened to atleast one of Lata's songs.

The crowd that thronged her funeral .... .

It was genuine crowd. Grown up people crying. She was not a politician nor did she have an untimely death but people's grief was indicative how much they loved her.

One man was sobbing so much he could not speak to the journalist.

Then there was a woman who said crying, "Ase Punha Hone Nahi na. Ata Sagle Shant jhale " meaning, "There won't be another Lata now, she has become silent". The way she said it.....

Lata might have earned fame and money and many other things but this pure love of people, very few get it and deserve it.

Anuradha Paudwal seemed very very sad, I liked how she kept interrupting the journalist when he was talking nonsense reminding him what the occasion was.

Shraddha Kapoor and Hrudaynath Mangeshkar were seen crying too, other family members held it together.

People will continue enjoying her songs but the fact that she is no more is quite unsettling.

Whenever Lataji went for recording,,,she used to take off her slippers outside the recording room and stand barefooted in front of the mic... That means the recording room or the workplace was the same as the temple for them.. Even when she sang on stage, she used to take her slippers out,,, many times in stage shows held in Russia, where there was minus degree temperature,, Lata ji maintained this tradition.... How deep and strong were the roots of the charming voice that ruled the industry for 8 decades,, that is why countless evergreen songs were blooming on the branches,, whose fragrance still smells the whole India

I always found her singing too high pitch for me and samey in every film she sang in, but I was very impressed with how hard working and successful she was, and enjoyed her interviews. Amazing woman.
