Tapsee-I get the best scripts for female protagonists; won't be modest

Taapsee Pannu expressed her happiness for getting 'central roles’ in ‘best of scripts in the industry’. She will next be seen alongside Tahir Raj Bhasin in the Indian adaptation of the 1998 German movie Run Lola Run.

In an interview with a leading news website, Taapsee said, “I am glad that I am getting central roles. I can unabashedly say that some of the best scripts in the industry with a female protagonist come to me, and I am not going to be modest about it. People come to me and tell me ‘this is written for you’, that’s the kind of situation I have no complaints about.”

She added, “But it is not because I wanted to be the centre of attention but because it just so happened, maybe we can call it the snowball effect for doing the kind of films that I have done and I am happy to be where I am today. I have no complaints either way.”

she gets central roles but taapsee and her acting has become boring now

but whats the point when no one sees those movies

even the names of her movies are unheard of now..i just opened netflix and saw her face on one of her upcoming movie posters..trust me never even heard of that movie

The fact is that movies have to reflect life, a lone woman’s life while may be bold after some time is boring. Same goes even for men, after some time the angry young man wasn’t that interesting to watch. The entertainment value is about human interaction, stories where men, women and relationships play equal roles. Even say, a story of a gay protagonist cannot be told without heterosexual interactions around them.

She can toot her horn, but she is alienating wholesome storytelling which has stood the test of time.

Maybe her name actually refers to no variation in dialogues or body language. Just we see like a tap with the same flow of of water, no change.

She is having good roles but should change her performances dynamically. She is just like Akshay or Ajay. Same method of delivering dialogues and just earning as much as she can.

She got a great role for a female protagonist once. Once she got that role, she never stopped playing that character. Now she plays it in every single movie 😊

She's not wrong. There's obviously been Thaillavi, Mimi, Shakuntla Devi, Pagglait, Sherni etc in the last couple years as well but Taapsee has had the most with Haseen Dilruba, Rashmi Rocket & Thappad.

Not sure why some people are so concerned with the Box office. The economics obviously work when producers want to keep reinvesting in her.

Where is the gratification is in doing a "2 minute item number + 5 minute of screen time " in a Khan/Kumar film either. Does that make a "Star"?

As far as I'm concerned:

Taapsee in Manmarziyaan/Haseen Dilruba > Someone like Katrina's whole career.
