Hi guys!
This is a short drabble inspired from yesterday’s episode, which I thought had so many adorable parts (except all the Manushi bits, of course) and this is just a tiny takeaway from that and my attempt at writing Meet A.
Comments and feedback always appreciated! ❤️
Cheers,
Nupur
PS: Thanks to everyone who’s been tagging me in stuff and making me feel like a proper part of the Meet forum. I see you and I appreciate you! 🤗

His hathodi was a passionate girl. She did everything with a certain zeal, whether it be her job, her love for her family or her determination to make her marriage work – she did it fiercely. Meet had always been in awe of this trait of hers, but sometimes it made him laugh. Like today, when she had ripped into the mechanic who was servicing her bike. It made Meet laugh to see his child-like wife behave her age sometimes. It happened so rarely.
He watched his wife ride away to her job with happiness and light emanating from her entire demeanour after a very long time. He crossed his arms and thanked god for the Rajasthan trip; it had done wonders for them. He had confronted his past, he had found his veere and more than anything, he knew without any hesitation that Meet was his future.
As he walked back into the house to get changed for work, Meet thought about how far they had come. The girl he had not been able to stand the first time they met was not only wife, but she had also slowly but steadily made her way into his heart. Christmas and everything that happened had put everything in sharper focus for him. He had realised that night that if anything had happened to his Hathodi, he wouldn’t have been able to bear it. The thought of her not being a part of his life was now unthinkable to him.
He opened his wardrobe to pick out his clothes when his eyes wandered over to the black saree his wife had been wearing the previous night. He had no shame in admitting that she had looked downright stunning; a fact he would not have admitted before the Christmas party. He had complimented her the previous night and in true Hathodi fashion, she had deflected. He had an idea of why she might have done that but he would try again until she believed him. She had been trying so hard to prove that she could be a good Ahlawat bahu that he hadn't even realised how much it might be getting to her. But it was time to make her see what he saw (the realisation might have happened late, but it had happened nonetheless); that she was a smart, beautiful, caring, kind and supportive wife and bahu - she had nothing to prove to anyone. She was great as is, as far as he was concerned.
Smiling to himself, he made his way to the vanity to fix his hair when his phone pinged with a message notification. His grin became wider when he heard the voice note
“Manne bhi teri baton ki aadat pad gayi hai… site pohonch kar tu bhi manne bata dena… message ka wait karungi”
Meet looked at himself in the mirror and realised he was sporting a face-splitting smile. It wasn’t a bad way to start the day.
