To the people asking this Question, If it was used with the intention to offend, then hell yes it's an offensive term.

It's like cursing someone with 'Maa Ki' or 'Behen ki' or 'ch***ya', all these are terms and legit terms so why is it an issue when used with the intent to insult?

Same with Aunty, instead of asking why was she offended with Aunty, why don't you ask why that sheltered dumbo used it to offend? And why did her apology have 50 variations before ending with no need to even apologise.

It's the intention that matters.

Bhikaari is not a bad word either. Bhikaari is a beggar, a panhandler. Bhikaaris are of two types - those who are professional / habitual freeloaders and those who are genuinely destitute.

But it all depends on the way you convey your message and project your emotions while conveying that message. Calling someone a "Bhikaari" is almost never seen in good light. It always has a negative connotation to it.

Age-shaming has become a norm around the world. No one likes being called old or older (although, I honestly believe being older is synonymous to being wise and more experienced at things in life). But those who use it loosely know full well the psychological and emotional implications that words has on others. It's as simple as that.
