Spotted this rather interesting little TRP image from Merani's twitter today.
TRP being calculated looks like (TS/Duration) * Reach, where TS is time spent.
So very bizarrely IMO, if the channel removed ads altogether, probably making the viewer watch all 30 minutes of the show for a particular day instead of them potentially switching channels mid-way, they'd have higher TRP's? (so Anupamaa and Ghum here could go as high as 5.7 and 5.0 for TRP because TS/Duration in such a case would be 1)
If so, it probably explains why some shows (especially in their first episodes) air without any ads- it might be an attempt to get high TRP's initially.
