Why Sonu Nigam didn't want to accept the Padma Shri award?

he said i am over with the award thing i passed that period , its too late to give me the award, although the concern person who called sonu from government side kept on convincing sonu to take it as he was fan,

and for laal singh chaada it was amir khan call to get sonu nigam for the song and also told that i sang it because i knew that it would not be made several versions of one song and he also said that pritam called me 2 months back and we had a chat and he said that he respect me very much as sonu sang in pritam's debut and he further told the reason pritam dont make calls to sonu , the same thing making version of 8-9 singers and selecting one out of it which , as pritam stated in one of the other intervieew that he will call senior singers only when he is 100 percent sure that not even director/producer get invovled with it

Well now I know your atlas honest

Because whether you know it or not both those things make Sonu look childish and petty. (IMHO)
