The body identification scene could be a flashback to the time when Ram’s father was killed in the accident.

The accident thing reminds me of the typical climax in some Ekta Kapoor movies with that dramatic music. I didnt watch the epi properly so I m confused. Was it Mahendra Sood who failed the brakes of Ram’s car or Ram was too late to apply the brake as it was his car which hit Priya’s auto.

No it was not Ram’s car that hit the auto. As Ram neared the auto which was astride the road, he spotted & Priya in it & he braked & swerved off the road (at least that will explain why his car wouldn’t start later).
The next moment MS car which was coming from opp direction headon towards Ram’s car hit the auto instead. The auto rolled off the road & Priya fell out of it n the cliffside.

Actually this sequence could have made more sense if Priya was shown on a scooty chasing MS car & somehow catching up & swerving in front to stop it & getting hit. That itself was enough for Priya to be setiously hurt, the cliff scene was not at all required. They could have shown Ram coming same time from opp direction, braking & swerving off the road, extricating Priya from the auto with great difficulty. Then car not starting & him desperately flagging down passing cars while tending to Priya & crying I cant live without u etc. Then finally their getting a ride to the hospital. This would have kept the spirit of the scene without the ott auto & cliff nonsense.

Answering your question on behalf of CVs. In the sequence, Ram is coming from the office, Priya is at the Lohri celebration. So no way, Priya can walk and come and get hold of Ram, so we introduced auto kaand 🤪
