I think it was to make a parallel scene. Jab Sid ne glass todha tha. But jab Sid ne glass todha tha, it didn't seem too dramatic. Can't tell if it was because of Kunal's acting or just the way that scene was, but yeh waala bahut zyaada dramatic tha. Even the way the glass flew around was so dramatic.

Karan ka lekin sweet tha..I think it was more of "I will always keep u close to my heart" rather than anything else because of the way he hugged her.There wasnt anything sensual about it.(Saying this because pehle mujhe laga ki woh aim tha scene ka,but it was just a sweet,warm hug and nothing else)

and the line "yeh mere andar tumne kaun sa Karan jaga diya hai" said so much about the change Karan has gone through.
