This is a nice take on yesterday's episode.

The writers are clearly confused and unable to carry on a tangent thought. It clearly shows in the editing, pacing of scenes and characters in the show.

The writers have clearly decided that in Pandya land logic does not work, amnesia in terms of feelings and words are clearly the way to go and being in constant state of confusion is what Pandya's thrive in.

The only characters whose feelings are constant are Janu, Mami and Bua. Clearly one dimensional character with clear intentions and goals.

Coming to Gautam and Dhara, their relationship was the pillar around which these Pandya's live. Put a crack on that everything comes tumbling down. The Anita angle could have been more maturely handled, considering all these characters have grown and learnt from the mistakes they have made. Showing Anita being stuck in a limbo since last 10 years is showing the character had no growth. Clearly she has seen Gautam and Dhara growing, loving and sense the depth in their relationship. There was nothing concrete for her to believe that she can become a part of Gautam's live as a love interest.

The current way the writers are handling a ten years old relationship is clear only possible in Pandyaland.

The Doctor of Pandyaland again have no association with reason, logic or reality. The writers are clearly forcing us with an illogical sequence to fit in some illogical and delusional scenes.

Dev and Rishita - Dev is clearly not capable of handling a relationship. He is not mature enough. I will give him the benefit that he is very young and this probably his first romantic relationship which kind of went into matrimony without either of them understanding each other and there aspirations. Given the right amount of time and communication this will improve. But for that both these have mature and understand the meaning of equality in a relationship. Which is clearly not possible in Pandyaland.

Shiva and Raavi are worst hit by writers amnesia. Raavi is a character who is been abandoned and rejected by the love of her life, publicly for which she tried commuting suicide. This is a very big issue to be brushed under the carpet. This emotionally damaged girl, however forgiving , naive or dillusional she maybe, she needs time to comprehend feelings. Shiva is falling in love for the first time with a girl who has huge emotional baggage which is not dealt with at all. And now all they want is to put the burden of a failed relationship on this girl, victimize her for sympathy and then have her accept Shiva as the love of her life. How???

The absolute worst is Suman's character being reduced to a evil saas. She has been strict, strong and always logical. But now they have just started making her the villian of Shivi's love story, which she clearly never was.

The only reason I watch this because of Kdice, Period.

@bold It's protocol to keep the patient in the loop unless and until it actually isn't possible (if they're unconscious or their mental development isn't sufficient, in which case a guardian or spouse would be informed insteas). Technically Dhara can sue the doctor for giving her those shots, whatever they are, without informed consent. It wouldn't matter that Gautam has consented.

@pink I feel like Gautam, before his wedding treated Anita as a friend he was slightly fond of because of the idea of the marriage between them. Post wedding, we don't see him interacting with Anita until the haveli track, where we see reluctance and mild dislike on his side. So, I actually see it as a rekindled old friendship in Gautam's point of view now, instead of a brand new friendship. Perhaps that's only the way I see it?

@blue Again, a slightly different perspective. I understand that Hardik is trustworthy both as a friend and a secret keeper, but after the room kaand when Gautam actually tried to explain things and was legit putting in a lot of effort to find a way to build the room for Dhara, I feel like I get him too. Hardik is not only a brother but also a parental figure to Dhara, and so when it comes to situations where it's one versus the other (unlike the collective decision to not have children) he does tend to support Dhara. And that's not wrong. So, although exaggerated I don't see Gautam worry to be out of place (though I do admit that he's better than Anita, no matter what😆)

@purple I really, really hope that what you're saying is true... I would love it if Krish starts thinking about Kirti, gets pitaofied by Janu eventually, then chooses to keep the thinking part....

@green I feel like the depth of Raavi's feelings are deeper than what we've seen, because she doesn't see it either. Whereas for Shiva, post marriage it's kinda like a mami shaped veil lifted off Raavi and he liked what he saw, I think for Raavi it's a repeated reaffirmation and increase in depth of her pre wedding image of Shiva. She still wants the same things from him to a huge extent, complete acceptance, and a positive relationship. But now there's a fear of abandonment and naming feelings (I'm assuming the second) that's also multiplied in depth. I feel like for us to understand her, she needs to do that first. Sadly, she's simply a confused soul right now.

PS Sorry about the mini essay Min😃!!! But I love the way you put your thoughts into words and couldn't stop myself from sharing...😆 I'm off to classes now!!!

No need to be sorry Sathya... I always love reading other povs on things i have watched... Gives me something to look out for if I ever rewatch an episode, which I tend to do and you've made many valid points.

I think for me I've always seen Anita as a person who was Gautam's friend because of Dhara and because of mami's relationship with the Pandyas. Even his marriage was only because that was what his father had promised and not because he loved her. Yes he always spoke to her frankly, but pre leap he was more open to both Dhara and Hardik compared to Anita, hence why my point in the first post. I can see where you're coming from too though and as long as we agree that Anita shouldn't be the person to be sharing this info with, I'm good 😂.

As for Raavi, all i can say is she 100% she needs to sort out her feelings first 😂😂.

Thank you for leaving such good points to ponder over and keep coming back. Hope classes went well

@bold1 Awieeeeee!!!! Fair warning, you're probably going to hear a lot from me now.... 😆

@bold2 We most definitely agree, and yes, he was more open with Hardik and Dhara, but i just feel like he wasn't not open with Anita...

Classes went great, much better than i expected today to be.... 😎❤️

Reviving this thread, only so I can find it soon.

A general musing of episodes from the start of kanwad to the signing of divorce papers, kudos to both KD and Alice. Those emotionally heavy scenes were handled with such éclat!!!

Cannot wait to pen my thoughts on all these episodes as I watch them more mindfully, because there were lots going through my head!

Episode 317

After a long time I decided to watch the show on the day the episode is aired. I have been following the IVF track with great interest, hoping to see the writers make up for the insensitivity that they showed with the first pregnancy. To say that I was highly disappointed would be a gross understatement.

However, coming to today's episodic musing, we start with Dhara holding the baby away from the family and her own parents, accusing them of plotting against her, trying to separate her from her baby. The family is trying to convince her in their own way that she needs to let go of the baby.

Suman being practical; asking she return the baby. Gautam trying to reason with her asking if she has faith in him (her words hurt, that she doesn't have faith in her own husband) the mother begging for the baby back. The mother begging for her own child was heartbreaking. Then Gautam convincing her to give the baby back and Shiva asking softly.

The run and baby flying through the air was thoroughly unnecessary. That particular scene reminds me of hostage situations that you hear about and watch in movies. Her reaction exactly that of the perpetrators trying to get their way (in this case keeping the baby as her Tara) and threatening repercussions. In this case I wish they had followed through with the scenarios that play out with hostage situations, negotiating and calming her down enough to get the baby away from her safely. Gautam caught the baby (and I know it was written that way, but imagining if it happened in real life, gives me shudders)

Dhara waking up from the fall completely fine, made it seem as though she has bipolar disorder (Maybe a a track that makers are trying to explore?) but her need to surrender made me cringe...yes it is very much in character to how she is supposed to be, one who sacrifices and accepts her mistakes, but for some reason I couldnt connect to the scene; it felt too abrupt, too disjointed. (I will rewatch again to give more thoughts on this hopefully).

Whatever the offscreen equation is, I will always love the bond that sensible Dhara and Shiva have. Special mention to KD for nailing the scene! He didnt look away even once.

My heart is breaking everytime I see the precap of Raavi being cornered by the villains (Twice this week) so I'm hoping that it comes tomorrow and I'm put out of my misery, as well as Prafulla trying to get the divorce moving. One thing I am definitely researching on soon is how divorce proceedings take place in India (As far as I remember from when I did research for the fiction I wrote, either one of the partners need to put the request in as they are legally consenting adults, so I'm not sure how Prafulla was allowed to get the proceedings fast-tracked)

As usual the track is dragged for so long only to be wrapped up in one episode that I am waiting for the right amount of closure to this track. It feels incomplete to me so I want to see if it will be left as is, as all other tracks are, or will it be brought back?

Min, liked your analysis about today’s episode, agree with everything you said,Very disappointed with the way BhabiMa got away by committing a major crime. The writers want to prove Dhara right every time and carefully give importance and puts her feelings on top of everyone else’s.

The way they treat different female characters in this show. Raavi always get the short end of the stick. I too want the divorce to go through and Raavi to move on in life. She need not remarry but do something with her career. She deserves much more than what she is out meted out.

Though I did’t care for the fake YKB moments for the past 2 episodes but it was sad and disheartening to see no e even thought or even mentioned about Raavi. Sometimes I wish they wrote off her character because she has been through enough. Not a day goes by without me ranting about her state. It is really sad to see a character being through misery after misery and all she wanted was little love😭

I don’t even want Shiva to rescue her, it’s of no use. I want her to escape on her own.

Completely agree.

If Shiva has to save raavi it has to be his unconditional love trust and respect for raavi. He should promise her to always be on her side and trust her the most.and except her as his wife raavi not dhara reflection or mkbhb.

Prema initially I wanted redemption for the shivi storyline, however because they seem to be the only ace they have, they have butchered both characters.

I agree with wanting more for Raavi. She has been through a lot for the sake of a family that doesn't even deem her important enough to be spared a thought when she's been missing for over a day, especially by the man who supposedly loves her enough to die with her. Having made Shiva said those words, they have made a mockery of the character they weaved so lovingly to be an unselfish man. Raavi truly does deserve much better than the bias that Shiva bestows on her everytime something happens because of her family. I want her to escape and save herself. I want that contrast from the first kidnapping, where she expected Shiva to save her and then the last one where she fought with those men in the car, to now saving herself completely using her own wits.

I'm happy for her to divorce if she wants a divorce. My only issue is why should mami make that decision for her? haven't they made enough of a mess of her life trying to take exactly those kinds of decisions for her initially? I want her to be strong enough to make that decision, despite her love for him, if Shiva utters the words that she did this for her family and not his... I want her to speak to the counsellor and request for it to be fast tracked.

This relationship has nothing but toxicity left and even though they may love each other and their chemistry is insane, they both have some serious growing up to do before they can even think of saying that they love each other.

This is not me saying Raavi has no flaws.. She does, but in this particular track, her only "crime" was being naive enough to believe her sister wouldn't be so evil (please let me know if I am reading into this wrong).

My thoughts on Raavi, Shiva and shivi usually have so many tangents and i feel the need to make a separate post, but it needs time which I am currently short on so I'll write it all down and hopefully post one day soon.
