Hey Mini..great analysis!! It is sad that a woman's life atleast in an itv show has been reduced to romance, drama and revenge but lets get few things straight up cleared. This show deffo is better in many ways than some of the crap running on itv. We have had some brilliant moments on this show right through her divorce track till Anuj's entry! As much as they try to squeeze in moments of empowerment througu actions, dialogues or screenplay, the show comes in an entertainment format and needs elements of drama as well otherwise it can get too preachy. We also need to understand that as much creative liberty they can take with the plots, its also a business. They need the viewership as well and romance works wonders for that. Almost 70% online audience started watching only after Anuj's entry. Its not only coz he is good looking or can act well but everyone inclulding me wanted to see Anu get that love and dignity she was stripped off in her marrige. For every trauma and tantrum V inflicted on her, I wanted Anuj to give her all that and more. A woman's empowerment or success is not just about career progress. If that was the case, anu already proved herself much before Anuj's entry by opening a dance school with no one to help or support. This is more an emotional healing and balance thats happening. Having said that some plots are plain annoying, atrocious and embarassing😂 and I am glad we give feedback and more imp they acknowledge it. So lets give this track to play out its end.
Btw I dont disagree with you at all but stating out my view from a mere 'it is what it is' standpoint😊
Ha ha yeah Sunny, i guess we mostly agree except I'm more angry about them including Vanraj.
I totally agree that the whole maan story is quite amazing, and she has what she deserves in this relationship. I was just sad that that's all it is. I'm definitely not complaining about the romance, far from it, it's the only saving grace, the only redeeming part of the show right now, and it's refreshing to see a male lead be kind and compassionate and feminist and it helps very much that gaurav is amazingly good looking.
This is the first iTV show I'm watching, and I don't know about others, so maybe my expectations come from elsewhere. But I started watching Anupama before Anuj entered and they're not showing that journey that she started on. My biggest biggest disappointment that this is turning out to be Vanraj's show rather than hers, about her defeating him rather than her discarding him as he deserves to be and moving on with her family and her life.
There's so much drama to show in office situations, explaining another relationship to your children, trusting your new partner to not treat you badly, rebuilding self confidence, all of this can be as dramatic and more than what we've been seeing till now. I'm even willing to see drama with maan, with flights reconciliations, she's never been in a relationship where she can fight as an equal, all that content is gold! There's so much good stuff they can do, it's exasperating to see them bungle it up in a bunch of sleazy tracks..
Sorry for the rant, I'm very disappointed today :) close to giving up and just following the story occasionally, through twitter.
