I was making fun of bride groom meeting at prewedding function

What? Are they Maharashtrians?

Like I said, maybe rituals have changed in the new millennium.😃

Sangeet and Mehndi is done nowadays too. And cake is cut at the wedding reception...so aping the west too.

Generally kelvan aap-aaplya ghari or relatives/friends kade asta. Halad pan aap aaplya ghari aste...pan shows madhye saamuhik aste.

hahaha my husband's family had invited me for kelvan 10 years back. I didn't go that was a different case-but invitation ala hota 😂😂 his cousin who recently got married also had both bride and groom 😂

also isn't kelvan just a family affair? Why invite colleagues? Ani lagnachya adhi or lagnachya nantar -kadhich konich ghaas bharvat nahi 🤣🤣 They didn't do all these rituals for Sumi’s wedding. Kanitkar's are differentiating - I will revolt 🤣

The thing I love about tv show's with a large cast is finding those great smaller characters and stories that take you on their own little journey. I'm a sucker for middle age love stories and wrt Vidya and Baskar, I'm sold! The duet was beautiful. I read that the bengali version of the show got flack for showing their story. I hope it isn't abandoned here because it would be such a waste for the actress playing Vidya. She portrays emotions beautifully. Plus, how long can the show solely run on Shashank and Apu's "nok-jhok". The makers will need to use their wonderful actors.

I'm okay with the way Shashank handles Netra and Apu. He can't possibly behave in the same way with both of them because they're two very different personalities and he shares a different relationship with each. Frankly, Netra and Apu's issues go deeper than Shashank and it's something they have to deal with themselves. And as we've seen, Apu is very capable of standing up for herself. She also has support from cookie gang. I'm also not too harsh on Shashank because he's never endorsed the way Netra behaves and has, on several occasions, expressed his disapproval to Netra. Of course that's not to to say I'm cool with him insulting Apu publicly. And I don't buy his cluelessness about Netra's feelings for him. Apu gives as good as she gets and the cookie gang always has her back which is what balanaces the scales for me.

Unfortuately, the conversation got diluted. I hoped Shashank would clearly tell Netra, regardless of his relationship with Apu, he doesn't have any feelings for her, he doesn't love her. He should've steered away from talking about Apu and their marriage altogether. That would've put a stop to this notion of 'her over me' because that's besides the point. It was also a chance for him to establish boundries now that he knows, since they'll still be working together. Or maybe he can do that later, at work. Sadly, Netra is on her own after that.

I know a lot of people dislike Netra but I can't get myself to because I see where she's coming from. Her disdain for the Vartaks is due to what she's been fed since childhood by her father and stepmother. From her point of view her mother abandoned her. Just like Apu feeling abandoned by her mother. I think Netra and Apu are more alike than they would ever admit. Also, Netra seems to be alone so I wonder if her father and stepmother are still in the picture.

that's true. Even hiding the shoes of bridegroom by saala-saalis while he is busy during the ceremony is being done nowadays in maharashtra weddings. But feeding by someone from bride's side or bride before the marriage is not ritual heard of across India.

But let's see in what context feeding scene comes. The way promo is shown or perceived is possibly wrong.

What a beautiful post. Dude even I like middle aged love story. And yes, netra has that similarity with appu regarding estranged mum. Difference is one did by choice and one was forced to leave without the kid.

Also, it's amusing how everyone is behaving like shaku aju questioning what is appu doing at kelvan and halad kutaychi ceremony. Sagle ekdum kakubai sarkhe questions Karu laglet😆

I watch khorkuto khup da. Aiborubhat ceremony made both bride and groom were invited to each other's place.

I don't mind it when she came for his halad kutaychi ceremony. Tila pan nee experience.

Good 👍🏾
