Yes, but would have been more prudent if they had atleast inserted a moment of hesitance on Imlie's part before this request to her mother, the hesitance to ask and put her mother in a position against the villagers, whose wrath she had seen countless times. Even if she was confident about her mom, worry would be the natural initial emotion.
