Yeah but but but, you would always ALWAYS keep your mom who went through all odds wayyyyy high in your priority list than a jerk. There's literally no excuse or no basis to care about anybody else over such a mom. No matter if that person is your idol, it's ungrateful to not prioritise your mother.

Of course that goes without saying! But in Imlie's mind her mom knows the people and the place. She has more control over the situation (in Imlie's head) than AKT. Yes but there is no excuse... I found it to be first and odd request and then an absolutely infuriating one!
