Who knows right? I don't want Aditya to die. It's better to let him leave and then recast if they ever want to bring the character back to add more drama.

I do think though that Aryan's adding Imlie to his list of people to avenge will play into the story somehow. But him unintentionally causing Aditya's death, or any death really, will add such a weird layer to things. I don't know how they could (re)build from that romance wise or story wise.

Then there's that promo with the car. Even if it's a metaphor, it has yet to play out.

My mind is blanking on the possibility that Imlie follows Aditya. Its annoying and painful, but possible. Even last episode, she was begging him to understand. That hope, man. That hope just don't die. I wonder what they're building towards that will finally dash all hopes.

They rebuild from Aryan “killing” him by bringing him back at just the right moment. But I really really hope they don’t go that route. I don’t want Aryan to have anything to do with Aditya’s disappearance, at least not directly or intentionally.

Also agree, Imlie’s on his short list of people he cares about and is avenging - so it has to play a role. Plus, his line yesterday about how Aditya’s time is coming seems like a red herring at this point. Now way they didn’t know Adi’s departure wasn’t coming when that was filmed.

@bold - I really hope she doesn’t follow him. But then I think that in not following him this time something bad is going to happen to him she’ll take that out on herself and that’s something I have little interest in watching.

I think the revenge plot is mainly meant to play into Imlie's insecurities either right after or just before she realizes she's in love. I can't picture it having any more of an effect. It'll just be, "is this why he approached me?"

I don't picture it having any real consequences for Aryan other than Imlie's backing off for a while. I don't know if I'm just wearing rose coloured glasses or what. But he's been so nice to everyone around him.

Even with Aditya, I mean, yes he set up Aditya up with silly assignments meant to make him crash and burn. But I don't think they needed a secret revenge secret to make that happen. The two are so different with their approach to life and work that their enmity feels like a natural space for them. Not to mention adding Imlie to it.

Maybe my head also hurts now too. 😆😆

On a side note.. completely off-topic here.

Now that "Piya tose milne choda hain sara jahan" wala piya actually chod kar jaa raha hain.. toh ab Imlie ka BGM kya hona chahiye?

Jaaniya toh hain lekin uska bhi toh kuch hona chahiye na?

So far (from the limited # of Gul shows that I have watched) GULs shows have had the following BGM:

- Maahiii Maaahiiii (male version)

- Rabba ve eeee Rabba Ve oh oh rabba ve (male and female version)

- Jaaniyaa (male version)

Aur ho sakte hain lekin pata nahi hain mujhe

Toh ladijzzz.. what would you like? a new BGM for Imlie, if so then make suggestions on words that can be repeated into a song and made romantic 🤣OR just a female version of Jaaniya?

Dude’s approach to revenge has been pretty meh so far 😂 Like everything he’s intentionally done to harm Aditya is nothing spectacular or malicious. He told him to cover a celebrity story. His reasoning for that was sound - Aditya has a loyal following, he has a way of seeing the world, now take that and apply it to a different scenario. How do you take your brand of journalism and telling a compelling story on a topic that isn’t usually covered from such an angle. Imlie understood the assignment. Aditya absolutely didn’t because he couldn’t see beyond his own ego, bias, and stubbornness. I think about projects I’ve worked on in the past, one in particular comes to mind. It seemed so shallow at the time, but I can’t straight up tell my boss that, so I did what she asked of me but put my own spin on it.

And I agree, they’re such different people though, Aryan doesn’t need to do much to push his buttons. And what makes it worse is that nothing Aditya does rattles Aryan. He’s just so chill and matter of fact about it. Which files Aditya up even more lol

We’re probably thinks too much about the revenge anyways. It was likely a quick plot point they threw in there to give him a preexisting reason to hate Aditya and potentially cause tension with Imlie. Oh and to of course sew some doubt into viewers minds about his motivation. They probably don’t even know where it’s going at this point. 😂😂

I like the idea of a female version of Jaaniya with slightly altered lyrics to fit Imlie.

I mention it all the time because it was just done so well but Madhubala had the best original track for Rishbala. And the lyrics would change to really share their emotions at different points of the story. That’s what I want here. For it to be Jaaniya but changing as their story evolves.

I second that! As in female version of Jaaniya.

Right?? 😆 I laughed at "meh", because it is so meh. Do you remember when he caught Aditya sneaking out of his house and he was like to himself "I won't waste my revenge on this". I was like well duh. But it seems like he doesn't even know what he wants. Just a general hostility and he wants to make Aditya pay for his crimes.

I honestly don't think Aryan is capable of revenge. He's just too nice. From what we've seen anyway.

Totally agreed on the work assignment part. Aryan spun it so logically that Aditya just seemed like such a brat. He was so wrapped up in his own ego that he completely forgot that he was trying to woo his wife back. He basically got to go on a date with her on company time. Instead he ditched her. When Imlie arrived home late, Aryan accused her of loafing around all day with Aditya at a fancy hotel. If Aditya had played his cards right maybe we would've got some version of that. Any estranged husband bent on bringing his wife back home would have made sure that is exactly what happened. Aryan expected no less. It was such a dumb move on Aditya's part. So so dumb.

He expected both to fail. Instead Aditya sunk his own ship and Imlie saved hers.

THIS. So well said, unprofessional and egoistic. I guess they had to go butcher his character GM has to have had put his notice at least a month ago, because the character assasination began shortly after Aryan made an entry.

Such a waste. So chicken or egg? No one knows for real. Did GM hint at a resignation and so they butchered AKT or did they butcher AKT and GM got fed up. 🤔🤔

Oh right - he’s like, I’ve got something bigger in store - and here I’m like.. ohh, I wonder what?! Turns out nothing. Lol

Aryan’s essentially a big ‘ol cinnamon roll. I mean what did he do in his first few scenes? Shut down an illegal fighting club and paid some strangers medical bills (oh, this scene reminded me of something completely different - will save for another post). He acts all tough but cannot see others suffering. Even watching out for the T’s - when Aditya’s dad was apologizing. Dude needs to be protected.

RE: Work assignment - EXACTLY!!! When he put them together I was like what’s this dude doing putting these two together?! Essentially pushing them back together. Aditya took that whole situation and totally went in the opposite direction of where I think a man who’s supposedly in love with his wife and wants her back would do.

@bold - and this is why he respects Imlie, why he supports her, why he’s given her a promotion. Any time he’s given her a task she’s risen to the challenge. At first he didn’t expect anything from her, but he tested her mettle and she’s proved herself. At first he was surprised by her and now I think he’s so invested cause he truly sees her potential and wants her to see it herself.

Okay friends. Let’s go back a couple days to a slightly more fun episode for us.

Setting the scene: Aryan in the kitchen cutting onions and a single tear rolls down his cheek after hearing Imlie.

Cut to: Aryan in the hospital after his sister has been admitted. He tells the receptionist/nurse at the hospital that a person should only have tears in their eyes for three reasons:

1. When their friend dies (I think… I didn’t catch this line)

2. When one cannot wipe the tears of their loved ones

3. Udhar (I’ll leave you to guess what that third reason is)

Now also recall the scene in the rain when he talks about what pain is, watching your loved ones suffer and not being able to do a single thing to help them.

Alright and back to Aryan’s single tear - this is even more beautiful when you put it all into this greater context of who this man is. He rarely cries but when he does it means something. The person he’s shedding a tear for means something.

Okay, now back to work 😬
