I would not mind a full fledged movie on Khilji and Malik Kafur and Malik's rise in Khilji's court from a slave to one of his commanders in military.

Whatever I read about them is super interesting and I would like to see a film with Ranveer and the Malik Kafur actor focused on Khilji and Malik Kafur.

I feel Khilji had more chemistry with Kafur compared to even his own queen Mehrunissa.

No wonder SLB gave those two their own song in the tent.

I agree. Deepika's looks faded away years ago and she looked worn out in this role. They should have cast Aditi in the role of Padmavati.

I think Ranveer was really good. Even if leads were not weak, Ranveer would still stand out. He brought great energy, ruthlessness, rawness, wildness and made a charismatic villain. He was literally pouncing like a hungry lion out to claw out its prey in battle scenes with Shahid.

Bajirao and Padmavat really brought out good actor in Ranveer. SLB knows how to extract the best from his actors.

I had seen Padmavat with family and my dad also said he was surprised by Ranveer who he had earlier considered as just another one of new boys.

The film is dead without Khilji IMO. SLB decided to make it all about ruthless Khilji just to silence protesters. That put lot of pressure on Ranveer but he did deliver IMO. That film is not watchable if Khilji is subtracted. It's a Ranveer/Khilji show.

I must say he looked rather hot with that darkened skin, scar on face, beard, long hair and kohl lined eyes and that snarling in lust and rage. Almost brought out the animal within him. I like his 'slave' Malik Kafur too with his sly smile, kohl lined eyes and adoring gaze at his 'master'.

Whole of Khilji side is more interesting IMO with Khilji's queen, 'slave', his motivated army, his tent. 🤣

From the limited history I have read I gather that both Ala ud din Khilji and Malik Kafur were intriguing duo. The devotion and loyalty of Malik Kafur towards his master raises so many questions on the nature of their relationship.

They had so many conquest and made so many administrative reforms together, Malik Kafur plays a very imp role in this infact most of the conquest were done by him.

Indeed it would be great to see them together again, they have great chemistry and it's not bromance 😊

At this point of time I would really like to see any bromance story rather than age old same formula movies.

I think Aditi shines in these broken and vulnerable kind of roles. She is very expressive but not fiery enough.

Have you seen Tripti Dimri? I think she can pull of Padmavati really well if not Aishwarya.

I agree with you.

I am fed up of politicising films.

I feel people will make it harder to make a film on Khilji and Malik Kafur. They will riot or write columns even before release, protest harder than they did for Padmavat.

Sadly due to all sorts of snowflakes, bigots ready to take offense at drop of a hat or drag religion somewhere, films on Khilji or Malik Kafur are not possible.

I understand when people object to films on saints or gods but recent trend of protesting over kings or queens is frustrating. They have destroyed creative liberty of filmmakers now.

Lol 🤣

I never realised this 😲

khilji and Kafur truly deserve their own franchise.

Had to agree Ranveer truly deserve all the praises, he did standout in his performance of madness, greed and lust. He proved that he can ace negetive roles to anti hero too with lootera and khilji.

Yes the most anticipated scenes of the film when he was on screen and his chemistry with kafur is something else entirely.

Your description though 😂 crack me up.

It has a long way to go....

Nowadays people have problem with each and everything.

So film makers are sticking to age old tried and tested formula.

I don't expect to see something like khilji and Kafur in a stand alone film ever. Heck they can't even make the so called Dostana 2 soon 😆

The sunburnt Khilji relaxing in bathtub with only Malik Kafur around in tent is now a popular meme on social media.

I cracked up at certain envy Malik feels when Khilji is with a dancing girl and he keeps looking at him with a weird smile.

The tent had so much going on before it actually caught fire. 🤣

I gotta praise the actor who played Malik Kafur. It was a really hard role to play and he gave really sly, menacing expressions that keep viewer guessing what is he upto and does he have more than just loyalty towards his master?

Sadly we will take centuries to be able to make films on Malik Kafur without whiners howling on social media or threatening to attack theatres or writing shit columns claiming film has a Nazi agenda.

BTW I agree on Ranveer. I did not think of him as much of an actor before Bajirao and Padmavat. I thought he had energy and was watchable. But I never thought he will pull off such heavyweight, demanding roles so well and so early in his career. He was walking on eggshells for choosing Padmavat and got threats from those who felt Khilji will be shown opposite Padmavati as a lover. He handled the pressure very well. He single handedly saved that otherwise choppy, slow and dull film with a tragic ending.

Oh good then,

When I saw the film I was a Lil disappointed. SLB had a mind for Aishwarya for Padmavati but that couldn't happen. I guess Aishwariya could have been better any day ( Jodha ❤️).

It's the make up and the way she carried herself made her bleak compared to Aditi.

I thought he wanted Aishwarya for Mastani (and Salman for Bajirao)? That movie was announced like in the early 2000s but was shelved after the Salman/Aish drama.

Don't think Padmavat was in development when Aish was at her peak
