Since you all were so welcoming to my story so decided to update early.
Chapter2: What happened to RAM...?
Now it was 9 in the morning and all the people important to ram were present in Kapoor mansion. Nandini was quiet but kept asking for updates from Adi who was in constant contact with his team of people who are scrounging up every single street of the entire city. Kunal and sandy went to the IT team in Kapoor urbans so that they can trace ram’s location which has been unsuccessful up till now. Vikrant and Akshay left for the minister’s home as soon as sun has risen so a swat team can be arranged to look for ram. Meera and Shivina were sitting beside Priya as she was very stiff and not interacting with anyone. She was just stoically staring at the mansion’s entrance. Vedika woke up 2 hours ago and since then has been crying on and off whenever anyone enters the mansion and keep yelling at Adi to find ram which was now pushing Brinda to snap any second now. Shubham was out the entire night never returning home. Nandini has been trying to reach him for the last 6 hours but every time will hit his voicemail. Then Sara walked in with Maitrey and looking at how Priya didn’t acknowledge them went straight to Brinda. And just then Vedika's water works started again getting on everyone's nerves. Looking at Vedika, Sara gave Brinda a questioning look and Brinda shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes again.
“Did they find anything about ram?” asked Sara.
“Shh....don't be so loud, get away from Priya first.” whispered Brinda and dragged Sara to the dining area.
“what's going on? Why don’t you want me near Priya?”
“Every time she hears ram’s name, she goes a little stiffer if that’s even possible anymore. You know before Vedika got up Priya was actually crying that’s why we had to call Meera aunty at 4 in the morning. Look how she has been holding onto her hand. it was very difficult to make Priya sit here she wanted to go herself to look for ram. And she won't talk to anyone even Meera aunty. She just keeps murmuring something to herself." replied Brinda while keeping a glance on Priya. “she’s not eating or drinking anything. I'm worried about her.”
“it's that bad huh? Well, she won't react until she knows ram is back safe, to her. She has always been like that.” said Sara. Just then Vedika let out another wail disturbing their chat.
“Just let ram be back safe or it's her funeral for sure.” said Brinda with a grimace on her face.
Priya was glad that they didn’t let her go to find ram because right now, she was not sure that she can trust her feet to stand on.
Just then Shubham walks in furious and started shouting “ram bhai where are you? Why didn’t you attend morning breakfast meeting at 8. now the client is very angry and won't pick up my call. Is my business not important enough for you?”. Nandini rushed to him and asked him to shush but he didn’t budge and started asking why everyone was in their home this early in the morning. Priya looked at him for a micro second on his entitled behavior and went back to staring at the entrance.
“Shubhu ram is missing since last night. No one knows where he is. There are people looking out for him but nothing has turned up yet.” said Nandini quietly by tightly, clutching his arm.
“Oh, please is this another one of his emotional meltdowns? When will he grow up? Doesn’t he know how important my business is? He has definitely gone somewhere again to eat all those weird things he keeps on eating.” he said irritatingly. Everyone was horrified to hear him say that, would be an understatement. Nandini facepalmed herself in her head and glared at him.
“Shubhu please not now.” said Shivina.
Before Adi or anyone could say anything, a voice spoke which has been quiet all this while with such a calm that even Nandini could hear the icebergs in it. “Funny how you are advising your older brother to grow up when you, yourself haven't yet. You want him to value something that you don’t value yourself.”
“I don’t need to grow up yet. Just call ram bhai he will come back to handle the client, it's his responsibility.”
“If you don’t need to grow up then why do you need a business for yourself? You can't put your party on hold for it or for your brother, why do you expect Mr. Kapoor to put his life on hold for your business. when you don’t value neither the business nor your brother’s life. If he is that childish maybe you should be planning your life on your own. Because he sure can't trust his life on you.” she said all this without looking at Shubham.
“What do you mean? That I'm not a good brother? Huh? How dare you....”. before he could continue Nandini interrupted Shubham with her glare and to diffuse the situation said “Shubhu your Bhabhi is right, ram is more important right now! Priorities!” and gave a forced smile to everyone present.
Looking at this Priya, Brinda smiled.
By 11 Vikrant and Akshay had come back with a swat team of 20 people already looking for ram in helicopters. Everyone went a little relax with a hope of finding him much sooner now except Priya. She would not budge from her place on the couch right in front of the entrance, like she wants to be the first person who sees ram and whom ram sees when he comes back. It was now 1 and still no updates. Just then Adi's phone rang. It was Kunal and sandy updating about ram’s location and Adi went pale. Everyone's breath hitched in their throats.
“Are you sure Kunal? Yes, I will let her know. Yes, ok. I'm on my way.” listening to Adi, everyone braced themselves for the news. Adi tuned and looked at Priya and as he approached her, Priya's hands start to shake a little but before he could say anything Vedika leapt up from her place and planted herself between Adi and Priya and started to ask him questions while yelling and crying. All people could hear was “whaa..Wha..whaa..”. she was not letting Adi speak. All this was vexing and provoking Priya. Vedika has been getting on Priya's nerves since she woke up. Without any forbearance Priya stood up, and everyone went silent except Vedika.
Priya tapped on Vedika's shoulder and waited for her to turn around. When she looked at Priya with red eyes and running mascara Priya simply said to her “can you move into the bedroom and cry I need to hear what happened with my husband and with your yelling and wailing I can't hear what Adi wants to tell me. My husband could be needing me right now. So please if you would be kind enough to let him speak to me.”
“I'm loving this new Priya. I hope ram is okay but someone needed to show these people their place and their face. I hope she never changes.” whispered Brinda to Vikrant all giggly and thrilled. Vikrant looked at her with weird face and slant eyes. “What? I'm just happy someone is showing this ugly hag her true place.” she replied in a matter of fact way.
“Priya I'm also trying to know the same only. I'm also worried about ram." said Vedika.
“Yes, I know but I'm his wife, it's important that I know what happened.”
“But...” Vedika tried to reason but Adi interrupted her.
“Vedika, Priya is right I need to talk to her, its important.” said Adi. Vedika gave a nod and a sour look before moving aside.
“So?”
“He was in an accident on Mumbai-Pune highway." after listening to that, Priya, herself crashed back on the couch. It felt like the ground on which she stood had been snatched from beneath her feet. Her eyes instantly moist, lips quivering, she felt her body going numb. She looked up at Adi and motioned him with her hand to continue. After looking at her he wasn’t sure if he should continue but he knew he has to.
“They found his phone near a crashed car. His bank account has registered a transaction 2 hours ago, which Neeraj informed Kunal, just about now. He is in the City Hospital. Kunal was informed that the man in the accident was badly injured. He is in I.C.U., there are very few chances for him to survive this.....” after that whatever Adi said she couldn’t register in her mind. She was feeling suffocated, she couldn’t breathe, her head was spinning, her entire world seem to have come to a stopped. All she could see in front of her tear-filled eyes was ram’s face, his smile, his eyes. And then there was blackness.
She opened her eyes when she felt some wetness on her face. Everyone was surrounding her. Her head was in Meera's lap. She sat up and asked what happened.
“You fainted Priya.” replied her mother while trying to get Priya to drink some water.
“You need to eat something. Its more than 15 hours since you have eaten anything.” said Sara.
“No, I need to see Mr. Kapoor” said Priya sternly and asked Adi to take her to Ram. Adi nodded and helped Priya to stand up. They all turned to go out but the sight in front of them stopped them. No one understood what was happening but the weirdest reaction came from Priya. She fainted.... again.
