I have come across many portrayal of Kashibai in media...

My most liked portrayal would be ironically would be in the show in which she did not have much of screen time. The show was a Marathi show about Baji's grandson, Pehwa Madhavrao and His wife Ramabai. But I loved the Kashibai in that series. She was now old, religious and even had difficulty in hearing. You could see that she was at one time really experienced and able Peshwin bai. She is not now interested in political games anymore but not ignorant. She understands all the scheming and everything but now she retired, she wants the new generation to solve the problems their own. She is ready to give them the advice but that is all..

I loved the performance in that show/

Priyanka's performance was also good, but some how I felt that I could see the able administrator that she was rumored to be. She was nice, gentle, innocent and dutiful.

The much hated portrayal of Kashibai must go to the after leap Peshwa in Sony TV but I always felt that writers couldn't write it in a creative way...They could not find a way to show that a man can love two woman same time. Many men did that during that time because they could. So instead they compromised the Kashi character to show that Baji and Kashi had a unhappy marriage.

So I was looking forward for this Portrayal of Kashibai in this show. Till now I liked many parts of this character. Yes, it is possible for her to be a spoiled child. And even though she was spoiled but she was not without any values. She listens to elders and really is obedient girl. She clearly shows that just because she doesn't agree with someone's POV she would not hate them. That was also refreshing.

But I do not for a second believe that she or baji could have voiced their opinions on their marriage. That part is just fiction. And I guess, I Can allow the writers going that route to make things more interesting I guess.. But still the writers could show, How Kashi transforms from a spoiled child to a respected woman.

Her skill as Administrator and wise ruler is what I am looking forward for.

I believe they will show all that. Right now they are just creating a base for Kashi getting knowledge regarding politics, patriotism , diplomacy etc. This challenge will made Kashi even more stronger but towards the end Kashi will get ready to mould herself after understanding it is for greater good.

Agree with you!

The Marathi show you are talking about is it Swami?

I liked Priyanka's Kashibai though the makers only showed us a glimpse of her being an administrator. But her maturity, her kindness and her loyalty to her husband, his family and the kingdom was showcased beautifully.

Honestly the Peshwa Bajirao show messed up Kashibai's character. It is true she was pampered but not just by her parents buy her husband and mother-in-law as well. They showed Kashi and Bhiubai not getting along.... but historically they did.

Bajirao loved Kashibai.... she was more than just a responsibility for him. He didn't intend on marrying Mastani she was wedded to him as a thank you by her father Raja Chatrasal. Mastani followed the Pranami Sect like her father, but also fasted with her mother during Ramadan. Basically lived a life of any child of inter religious marriage. It was Mastani that named her son Krishnarao but sadly... even Krishnarao aka Shamsher named his son Krishna and their nicknames were Krishna.

Another thing is that he never ignored Kashibai after he married Mastani. Mastani and Kashibai only met once but both had respect for one another. Mastani never took or tried to take Kashi's place in BR's life or kingdom.

Kashibai even brought up a 6 year old, Shamsher as her own child. He too respected her a lot. I saw an interview of the current Nawab of Banda and he said Shamsher even got Kashibai's name added during his wedding vows (basically Janjira Konkan Chitpavan Shamsher Krishnarao Bajirao Balaji Ballal Bhat, son of Janjira Konkan Chitpavan Bajirao Balaji Vishwanath Ballal Bhat and Mastani Bai Bajirao Ballal Bhat and Kashibai Bajirao Ballal Bhat) so we can see how much he respected her.

I agree creative liberties are taken while showcasing history but there should not be a lot of discrepancies. Initially I liked the show and I liked the fact that Radhabai was portrayed for who she really was - a shrewd woman. But she never bore any ill will towards Kashi. Its surprising the way Kashi is treated by her. Radhabai hated Mastani and plotted against her while Kashi was innocent in all of this. But going by the looks of things, she will warmly welcome Mastani herself to get rid of Kashi.
