Tejo returned to Moga to visit her ill father leaving angad and riya at shimla. She wanted an excuse to be away from him, jasmin and Fateh. She found out about the fake marriage and was shattered that she was kept in the dark. On top of that angad pushing her into a marriage and his lately awkward behavior was too much to handle.

He lost all of them in an accident in London. Her name was Pooja. She was his fiancee. They were about to get married. She took his parents to some last minute marriage shopping that the deadly accident with a speeding truck took place on a highway due to heavy rain and a slippery road.
He surrendered to liquor and lost all hopes of living till tejo came into his life. She brought freshness but he knew she won't be there long as she was in love with her ex. He couldn't get his love but wanted her to get hers. So all the i love u and marrage proposal was an act just to push her towards fateh.
He requested Riya's nani's help to unite fateh and tejo promising her riya's custody after all he was not gonna live for long. Nani was aware of his illness.
