Karan is emotionally manipulating Teja. He knows Teja let's go of most things and hence he gets free pass with her many times. Umar he knows will drop him like a sack of hot potatoes at the slightest chance he gets, so he is forever pampering umar so as not to upset him, at the expense of saying wrong about Teja to umar to earn brownie points from umar, so that he can have his numbers, coz he can't play solo. Now he's literally being controlled by Umar.

When things go too overboard with teja and once in a while Teja tells him off and wants to reassess the situation, he starts his emotional manipulation of not being able to stay away from each other n all that crap. It's disappointing to see Teja getting manipulated. Anyways once that's done, the vicious cycle continues.
