Love, love, loooove whatever you have written so far with these two and where you are taking the story! The universe you made for them and their characters are so on-point despite not being exactly what they are in the show, and this just makes it so likeable. Also, I like how you've written them in a more mellow, warm and soft space rather than delving too much on the sexual tension/chemistry that persists, because frankly, they do have a deeper connection than what I foresee the makers doing with them. I wanted to know if that was a conscious decision on your part, and to try and make them distinctive from what conspired between her and Aditya.
Aryan, toh is such a loveable character, and you (and all the other brilliant writers here too) keep adding to his charm with the little tidbits adding on to his personality. That has made the lines between the Aryan in the show and the Aryan in my head (created all thanks to you and the other writers) have scarcely distinctive boundaries and if the makers ever try to malign him, I wouldn't register it as canon. :)
Also, the fact that he did cleverly steer Imlie's train of thoughts where he wanted to take them, but the unpredictability of the woman in question and the scenario in general make it such an enjoyable read.
And this is probably what the grey in his character persists, because if he did have feelings for her back then (which I now believe is canon, all thanks to you!), then quite a few of his intentions and/or actions, calculated or not, dwell on his fondness for her, and weren't purely of just empathy for another human being. This also makes for an interesting 'conflict' in the story because let's face it, no one is as all-white as media sometimes likes us to believe and so maybe, a couple of Aditya's accusations might be true, that Aryan was doing things for selfish reasons. And a few of those things contributed to the downfall of the already wrecked ship that was Imlie and Aditya's relationship. (I have zero. nil. nada. liking for him and his behaviour but hear me out) I'm not saying it happened because of Aryan. No, their relationship was doomed from the very roots on which it was built up on, the fact that Aditya never extended to Imlie the trust and belief a partner deserves and also undermining her just because he thought of her more as a child/teenager than an equal partner. (This is based off of my perception of these two because I didn't follow their story but have seen some of their last interactions, so excuse me here)
But coming back to Aryan, some of his behaviour in the last couple of weeks (in canon) could have been to 'use' Imlie to instigate Aditya per se, but when and where those boundaries got blurred and if he withdrew from actively doing that because he realised it was wrong is well, something only he knows. But this makes a really good crack in his 'too good to be true' persona, and makes him well, human!
Khair, this got a little too long but I've been a silent observer here for a couple of weeks now, and your story just made me pour down quite a lot of my jumbled up thoughts, so thanks to you!
Keep writing more, because this story is heading forward so beautifully, and I'm kaafi invested (as the wholeass paragraph before this shows :) Would looove to read more of what you write for them in the future!
Love,
