No, I don't think so. Aru is not a tax-evading, corrupt businessman. That much is clear from how he treats his household staff and how much he appreciated Imlie's first article. Unlike Gul's other heroes, he does not rant over aukaad and khandaan and shit like that.

I don't think he's against Aditya's journalism per se. But that he's too condescending and obstinate with it. I remember one time he said something like "agar hum nahi chhapenge toh logon ko sikhayega kaun?" His job is to be publish the truth, be the voice of the people, and not teach people. I don't think Aru has a blind hatred for good journalism, or even for Aditya. It is misguided for sure, but he's playing at Aditya's ego and not demoting him for the heck of it

Either way, Aditya's demotion as well as Imlie's first piece have to be seen independently of Aru's revenge.

In the second instance, Aditya really was horribly and needlessly insubordinate. He could have just kept quiet and let Imlie do the job if he didn't want to do it. But he publically and tactlessly humiliated the interviewee and for what? Pooja Oberoi could have sued Bhaskar Times.

Also, I found his opinions regarding the actress very sexist. He totally deserved the demotion.

I am going to have to disagree... Aru not only comes from the school of thought that AKT is a bad person but he also believes that Aditya abuses his power as a journalist. The kind of BS adi put out about Imlie reinforced that.

Yes ASR likes to be petty and does play to Adi's over inflated ego and arrogance but he also genuinely believes that Adi has ruined his and his family's life by indirectly pushing his BIL toward his death.

The demotion was well deserved but also a step towards his revenge... ASR can't just walk in and demote people at his whim... he can be questioned... he found an excuse in Adi's terrible behaviour.

I've mentioned this before also (probably another thread)

I used to think (still do) that ASR's idea for revenge was always only directed at adi by controlling his wayward journalism and not let it destroy other lives/families.

So when he got a chance... Took over BT and became his boss so moniter what he prints in future.

(I'm making an assumption here) As he observed in his few days that adi is in a bad phase in personal life with his relationship with imlie falling and based on his judgment he thought it might affect his work (not in a good way)

So he gave that pg3 assignment to test them both (adi-imlie as he'd just come to know about their relationship as well) if they can keep their personal and professional life seperate and prioritise work and as predicted (by Aryan) adi failed! So he got a solid point for demoting him (because he's senior reporter and 11 yr long successful career)

Both of these are true, but I don't think that Aru is against good investigative journalism as such. Like you said, he thinks that Aditya is arrogant and abusive as a journalist. Whilst not entirely true, the second part is not wrong either. Aditya is not a good journalist. That was apparent from how he treated the actress but also the fight club scene where he was getting Aru arrested without investigating properly.

That's the major problem with Aditya— his sanctimony and overinflated sense of ego.

Aryan did not publish Imlie's article just to spite Aditya. Like he later explained, sach ki kadvahat mein umeed ki mithas. The second instance, he probably just cornered Aditya to castigate him in front of his juniors— to insult him. But Adi blew it out of proportion and made things too easy for Aryan to demote him. Anywhere else he'd have been fired for rumourmongering about the boss and an intern, tbh.

Essentially we mean the same thing just way of saying Is different...

Obviously Aryan doesn't hate journalism or AKT individually

he hates them as a combination 😆
