Right VS Wrong of Meet A's parents

Had this thought for few days since the wedding track began therefore was deliberating to ask & get perspectives especially for Meet A's parents. Both characters had their points laid out. Not entirely perfect, but point is visible from both ends of the spectrum. Babita, like any other parent, had aspirations for her son's wedding. Though what happened to the contrary & her past history with Meet H after the verbal altercation from their last interaction, she remained uninformed by her husband over the bride switch & the horoscope swap. She did have a point that she had equal right to know about the fiasco.

Her husband had to get her son married. Though it was with their Guruji's permission that the wedding had occurred, somehow, I found the movement a bit controversial. I thought maybe a bit manipulation was involved but he's also caring for the betterment of his son & took his wife's aspirations into consideration. He didn't inform Babita with the nick of time.

I'm trying to look at this from a multidimensional over a unidimensional perspective because both parents were right & wrong from their POVs thus was curious to know other perspectives.

I do think Papa Ahlawat should have spoken to her in private at least post the wedding and explained the scenario instead of turning up with the bahurani at the door. I understand he knew she will not be happy so did not tell her before the marriage, but baad mein bataana toh chahiye tha with due respect. At the end of the day, the decision was taken for HER son too. She would have atleast known and understood partly why things happened the way they did.

That way, at the least they could have removed all the Manushi decorations from the room, changed it to Meet on the plaque and also asked the guests to leave before the family came in, which could have allowed them to do the ceremonies peacefully without anyone passing further judgements. Meet H was subjected to public humiliation in front of a family who know nothing about her and wont defend her so easily. The truth would have benefited both Babitaji and Meet H, both on opposite sides of the coin, navigating this new situation.

Thanks for sharing. Masoom informing Babita with exaggeration involved would've definitely blown the situation out of proportion thus that part is comprehensible but he himself taking the entire decision for Meet A's wedding was a bit controversial & then giving the "surprise" thing. I'm not concerned about what the gossip corners are blabbering (wedding guests) but Papa A's actions of not informing Babita regarding this situation. It was a direct blow on Meet H also who is prone to torture which hurts her even though she remains mum over it.

Yes, Babita has her share of flaws but not informing her about the fiasco was a bit manipulative IMO especially after trying to deviate her anger as something against Guruji's will. Maybe from Papa A's point, he was trying to tranquilize her or calm her down , though I still felt this bit was a bit manipulative.

Yes, if we are purely looking at the parents and the Ahlawat family then I will concur that informing her prior to getting Meet H home was necessarily. Going by the plot that the car of the bride and groom also broke down on the way and the other members could have possibly reached before them as well, there was enough time for him to take her aside and tell her the truth in a more comprehensible manner where she was mentally prepared for Meet H to be there instead of Manushi. As for the public, I mention them as they made it worse for both parties (i) by making statements on Meet H and (ii) also taunting Babitaji about her bet, which made her even more agitated towards Meet H too for not meeting those standards.

Guy was ready for marriage after seeing the photo and conversing with Manushi after meeting her in person (even though Manushi was hiding her affair and/or disagreement over the alliance) before they found out that it was Meet H's kundali/gunn milan with Meet A's, followed by pressure to solemnize the relationship.

I've seen it in some of my friends where either they marry because they trust their parents and/or don't want to disobey their choice. Some had gone on few dates, talked/chatted virtually, phone calls, etc before their courtship (and ultimately, wedding journey) journey kickstarted. I'm nobody to question this as it was done with their consent (in other words, that's what they felt their consent in). Bride's sister does marry the groom in certain parts of India (possibly elsewhere but feel free to search it on a search engine or something). Some might find this appalling, some might not. It depends on the perspective but this does occur.

Over here in this show, their relationship is the crux of the story as to how the leads met and all. I lost interest after the marriage track months ago as I felt the slightly disconnected with the execution here and there for some reason. What tracks might've transpired afterwards, other members are free to chime in and respond.

Um... Aside from the obvious (i.e., for the purpose of milking out the drama), this kinda thing is usually done in the name of saving families' reputation (at least that's how they show it in itv.. Yet to come across this kinda thing irl fortunately) . Of course I am against this kinda thing cuz it gives society more substance than what it actually is for the most part, a meddling bystander. Doesn't matter whether there is consent or not, whether they're blackmailed or not, rules of the society are rules... And you gotta conform... That is what they show in these cases in itv at least.. So yeah, for better or for worse, he got married...

Pretty sure this kinda societal pressure vala last min marriage only happens in India tho... I could be wrong of course... But I've never seen other wise

I know right vaise technically dekha jaye toh yeh shadi kafi pointless this par ab kya hi bol sakte hai.

Ha Rishi ki kundli mai Mangal tha jisse uski rakhsha sirf bokul kar sakti thi kuch ek saal tak I think issliye toh voh manti hai shadi ke liye and baad mai bhi jab Rishi bolta hai mujhe tumhare saath nahi rehna tab voh bolti hai thik maine kaku(shekhar/Raj) ko vada kiya hai so ek saal rahungi fir tumhe mere shakal nahi dekhti padegi.
