I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but this rule was left out of the Rules post, and it defeats the stated purpose of the contest: "So make sure every home you’re bringing gifts to also has a good, fluffy story to curl up with for the holidays! ... Your stories will not only bring cheer to the people that are waiting for them, but will also provide some relaxing holiday entertainment for Santa, his reindeer and his elves who’re sure to be tired out after all their hard work this season!" Instead of getting stories to read from December 25 onwards, we will have to wait approximately a week into the new year, by which time the holiday season is over and winter vacation may also be over for those who have one.

The contest is a fun idea; next year, it should be scheduled before the holidays so that the whole forum can read holiday stories during the holidays.

Well I went and my half skeleton even when I know I won't submit it 🤣. Because I realized it was way off from the prompt but I started writing it and might as well finish it policy .

I almost finished another one which I might submit 😆. So I have two instead of one at the moment

Right now I have three unfinished drafts and I'm not gonna submit any of them 🤣

Everything I'm writing is so angstyyy 😭 I think I've lost my ability to write fluff 😭

Fluff is not my genre 🤣. I tried to turn my first angsty one into fluff but it wasnt working 😆. Now I have one that can be part fluff and part angsty I guess. I am not going to write anything new, so may send the second one because deadline is near or may not 😆

Okay, same! I'm trying to cut down on the angsty part because I refuse to write 2000 words of angst and use the +500 words that were given out of kindness for the actual fluff.

Do we ever like what we write ? 🤪. I like my characters and sometime even the story but I always end up feeling like it could have been written better. So if it is for a competition of sorts ,nothing will satisfy me 🤣.

Yep the + 500 words were a live saver for me too. My word count came upto 2100 and I tried to get it back under the limit even that was hard. If I had to cut back 500 words then it would be impossible from my side. 🤣.

Right now I think the angst is 70 percent and fluff is 30 in my story. In my first attempt angst was 95 percent 😆.

I'm trying to make them have fluffy endings but it's not working out so well 🤣

I should probably cut out the angsty part, but it fits so well with my mood that I'm having a hard time letting go 🤣
