Perhaps I could provide some help in clearing the above mentioned confusion.
I have not seen much of the series but from what I have seen in the middle of the show & as per the story Krisha had never expected but she was swept of the feet by her Prince Charming Devraj (Or perhaps she thought he was her own Knight in Shining Armour).
However to her rude shock she discovered Devraj was just using her to place her in Maya's shoes-Devraj's real love interest & Queen.
There can be 2 scenarios regarding this whole ongoing Identity Crisis for Krisha-
1- Devraj might be a grey-shaded character but there can be no doubt that he really loved his own mate Maya despite the rivalry between the 2 Royal Families of Devraj & Maya.This can be seen from the way he expressed his genuine emotions when Krisha asked him if he really loved Maya?
Now why he is doing all this? It could be to find out the real plotter behind Maya's Dastardly Accident as it was shown in the flashback.
So far the full truth behind Maya's untimely accident has not been revealed in the Serial.
Devraj might be just a royal Prince but he's quite an intelligent human being.It could have been possible that he deputed his trusted Royal aides to find out the veracity of Maya's accidental death without fully involving the Law into this case.
I don't know whether any Forensic Analysis was done like the CID serial but it could be possible that perhaps Devraj could have done a secret Investigation into the case arriving at the conclusion that perhaps someone could have tampered with the Mechanism of Maya's car resulting in Loose Brakes during the accident.
Now Devraj could have thought that perhaps someone from the Royal Family/or outside the Family could have engineered this accident.
After seeing Krisha accidentally in the Udaipur Hotel Devraj perhaps thought of a plan to make Krisha act as the next Maya in order to unmask the real plotter within the Ambika Empire.
Thus he trapped her in his Fake Wedding scheme but unfortunately due to the machinations of his own cousin the truth came out sooner rather than later in front of Krisha.
2- Maya is alive but she could have done some heinous crime & thus in order to protect her Devraj himself thought of a plan to engineer Maya's fake accident thus making the whole world believe that Maya is really dead whereas Maya is just biding her time to come in front of the whole world while Krisha would unfortunately face the law for Maya's crimes which is wholly unjustifiable from our POV.
Hope the 1st scenario is true rather than the 2nd one.
Devraj has been portrayed as some sort of Mastermind in the series here however his eyes does depict that perhaps he has strong feelings for Krisha.Now whether is it due to Krisha's innocent beauty or due to her resemblance to Maya only time will tell?
It could be possible that if Devraj really falls for Krisha then he would not let her leave the Palace at any cost though he has been shown to express regret at his current evil actions.
It would have been much better had Devraj asked for Krisha's cooperation in uncovering the real plotter behind Maya's untimely death rather than forcing her to do the same.
