Okay. To be honest I am not much of a TV viewer, but in internet / news / newspapers I hardly come across mentions of Zee TV programs while Sony seems to have all the prime properties that are more reported / discussed.

Maybe, but they get ad revenue from trp ratings - and all Sony weekday soaps rarely manage to get rating of 1+ in last 5 years, whereas till last year Zee had atleast 2 programs in top 5, and even now almost all their serials have better rating than the top serial of Sony.

So just checking on financials.

Zee - FY20 8219 crores, FY21 7729 crores revenue

Sony - FY20 5961 crores, FY21 5721 crores revenue

So you are right, Zee is bigger in revenue.

On digital platforms Sony is definitely ahead at the moment. And even though their fiction shows don't get the TRPs, most of their content is very well received.

From a pure business perspective I don't think Octopus album can be called as a hit. Because they are spending quite a lot of money and time and only source of returns are YouTube views. Not sure what their buisiness model is.

Just as a song anything crossed 1M is called as blockbuster as per HR terms. So it is a hit.
