Unlike common belief, Lamhe was actually not at all flop. It was an average to above average nett grosser. The flop verdict is manipulated and spread by media. Also, it was highly successful in cities and huge blockbuster in overseas , which allowed it to break even. This movie was more popular among the class audience. The movie got high critical appreciation, especially SRIDEVI and went on to become a cult classic. The songs are very beautiful and very popular as well, and won lots of accolades and awards, National Award, filmfare awards, etc. Interestingly, not many know, rather very very few people know that besides filmfare award, SRIDEVI also won International Film Academy Best Actress Award and Sunday Observer Best Award for Her performance in Lamhe.
