yes, because in shastra there are few ways of making promises or commitments.

1.cupping water in hand or standing in water

2. in front of fire

there are few more...

Thats really interesting and def makes so much sense... Agni and jalam .... Thats y they say sadhana done standing in water is so effective.... And nothing like agni to make promise infront of....
