Each little step that we have taken has brought  us closer to many milestones. We celebrate  our progress, big or small,  as we move forward, hand in hand with our buddies  in IF.

We don't wait to reach the end result or the outcome, it is not the end that matters because every year we set our goals higher n higher. What matters is where we stand today while always remaining in harmony, unity and progress. 

The first step was when a post was created as a blog for Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin by Vijay Bhatter on 09 Dec 2003 @ 06:29 AM … that’s the time our India forums came into being .. ..and we have crossed many a milestones since then.

With more than 1.2 Millions + registered members (as on August 2021), India Forums is the #1 entertainment discussion forum covering the latest news, gossip and events of the television and Bollywood industry, provides a unique platform to more than 4.4 Millions of unique audiences 

 Started as a simple blog, India Forums is now a home for all the Television and Bollywood buffs around the globe,  an ultimate online discussion hub that connects audience from all over the world to Indian Entertainment industry. Our forum has also branched out to several other sections like Fan Clubs, Debate Mansion, Fan fictions, Sports, Quiz and much more.

24th Apr 2019 @ 07:13 AM we migrated to new site our new address: INDIAFORUMS.COM with a new look.

This is the result of the love and devotion of a large body of dedicated men n women. So let’s pause to admire and celebrate the milestones  we achieved, as we prepare for the road ahead .

Salient features of the new site …

• Our Internal Site Search instead of Google Search
• Users can now login / signup using their social accounts like Facebook / Gmail / Microsoft which makes the whole process of logging in easier.
• Two Factor Login where one can further secure their account using Google Authenticator app.
• We have now categorized our site in 3 main categories: Tv / Movies / Digital. We have also further added categories under them based on the language they are coming like Hindi / English. 
• Faster browsing experience.
• Optimized for Mobile.
• Clean interface for best user experience.
• We are removing comments for Celebrities and replacing it with Discussion Topics so that its more organized. Members will be able to tag the celebrity and it appears under Celebrity Profile
• If there is no dedicated forum for a particular show one can still have discussions around it and it will show under that show Discussion Tab.
• Users will be able to see all the critics rating under one page and they can even give their rating and based on which we will show you the computed average of that movie. That would make it a very fair way to rate a movie.

Interesting changes  to our username policy.

New facilities at new site are …

• Usernames can consist of lowercase and capitals (Ex: VijayBhatter)
• Usernames can consist of alphanumeric characters (a-z A-Z 0-9) - Ex: VijayBhatter121
• Usernames can consist of underscore and hyphens (Ex: Vijay-Bhatter or vijay_bhatter)
• Cannot be two underscores, two hypens or two dots in a row
• Cannot have a underscore or hypen or dots at the start or end
• Length of the username to be between 4-15
• Special Characters NOT allowed (like $ ~ ! # % ^ & *)

Tagging members is an exciting facility 

Friends we can tag other users on a post and invite them to be part of that discussion.

The users whom you have tagged will get notification.

Just below the post there is an option to Tag Users. You need type the username and select the correct one. That would tag the user.

Points to remember:

1. Newbies cannot tag users.

2. Some users may have restricted the tagging feature to Buddies only or completely Off from the settings. So you cannot tag those users.

3. You can only tag maximum 5 people in one post.

4. Once you have tagged someone you cannot add or update the list. Since we do not want this to be misused.

Smart pagination and highlighting popular topics

are the new changes we have made recently:

1. We have added Smart Pagination for Forum Topics / Posts.
2. Celebrity Search option is now added on the Celebrity directly.
3. Popular Topics (in the last 24 hours) is displayed in the Forum Main Page and also one can check all the popular topics on IF at https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/populartopics
4. Users who have not yet registered as members can also now post comments on articles/videos. They just need to validate their email once.

The launch of User Badges feature. 

Badges are tied into accomplishments or various activities, and they are something a user aspires to attain and has to earn. At the same time, it identifies that user as someone who has achieved a certain level of activity and made contribution to the growth of India Forums and showcases this achievement to other users. 

I am sure by now you all must have noticed the new shiny badges under several users as we have processed all the past activities and assigned badges accordingly. 😊

Member of the month Badges 

4 new badges which will be awarded every month to the member for:

• Most Comments (counts comments which are 5 words or more)
• Most Posts (counts posts which are 10 words or more)
• Most Liked (person who has received maximum reaction on Posts)
• Expressionist (member who has given most reactions on posts)

Website satisfaction surveys 

We have recently started a Site-wide Website Satisfaction Survey where members have to answer 4 simple questions.

These surveys help us get insights which we might miss out otherwise. And we planning to integrate them in our system to get them regularly from our members in a very non-intrusive manner.

Your response stays anonymous.

The Updated Private Message system

1. Now users can delete PMs from Outbox
2. Users when they delete PM from from Inbox won't affect the senders outbox and will still be accessible.
3. If you have lost your PM from Outbox due to the receiver deleting from Inbox is restored.

Users can Star a particular PM which they feel is important. Also note Starred PM cannot be deleted unless they are Unstar so that you do not lose out important PMs accidentally.

Users can sort their PMs in different folders. So lets say you want to save certain PMs to a folder named "Important" or "Buddies" and may be "Spam".

 Question & Answers Topics

So if a user has a question they can select the Topic Type as "Q&A" while creating the topic. And users can start posting their comments or answers.

 Vote up Topics

Basically its  simple topic where members can vote up a post and it will be sorted based on the most votes first basis.  Some of the application of this topic are:

• Banner contests where other users can get vote up .
• Ideation topics where users can help us discover most requested features to the top.

Ladder groups have been maintained

Mainly based on the feedback we have been getting from our members on the new Ladder Groups has been quite encouraging.

Social media embedding becomes easier

Now we can easily embed Social Media posts. And the process is also very simple. No need to remember any BBCode. Simply paste the link in your post. It will automatically embed the same when you post. We currently support the Top 4 social media sites.

• Youtube 
• Facebook
• Twitter
• Instagram

And second news is about Quote Notification. So now you will get a separate notification when someone quotes your post.

Signature feature with hyperlink, images and video support activated 

New feature this time is that we are bringing HTML5 MP4 video links also using a new Forum Code ie. [VIDEO]full-url.mp4[/VIDEO]. 

Normally we see MP4 hosted on Giphy that can be used and we encourage users to use Videos instead of heavy GIF as they are faster and takes less download time. Just ensure its a direct URL to the MP4 file. We will soon get a Tutorial on the same. 

In order to make sure that our user experience is great through out we have put certain reasonable restrictions:

• Only one Hyperlink can be added
• Only one image / video can be added.
• Forum signature height is restricted to 200px and going beyond that will push the signature inside a scroll.
• Signature box only allows URL / IMG / VIDEO Forum codes.
• One can use Emojis like  😀
• Images needs to be .jpg / .gif / .png
• Video currently supports .mp4
• All links should be https only.

Celebrity Discussion forum

Now members can Create topics on your favorite celebrity and it will appear on their profile page under "Discussions" tab.

Quiz section has been added

Members have fun quizzing others and participating in the quizzes in our brand new section . Quizzes are on any topic under the sun , not just entertainment eg  GK, Geometry, Botany etc .

Topic Maker gets more control on their thread 

A new feature where our Topic creator gets more control on their topics and at the same time helps us in keeping spam/abusive/MID post reply in check.

So we have come up with a solution where we give our Members (Senior Members and above) on the topics they have created the option to Hide posts by Newbies which they feel is not appropriate/abusive and against IF Code of Conduct. 

It also gets logged in our Report Log so that the moderator can review the same and take action accordingly. 

India Forum  prohibits sexually explicit material on this site .

This is regarding the information you post on the India-forums Website and that you provide to other Users, your India-forums profile must not include any photographs containing nudity, or obscene, lewd, excessively violent, harassing, sexually explicit or otherwise objectionable subject matter.

Reactions feature to IF News Articles

 is an interesting new addition , which will be replacing our existing Like feature.

Our site readers now have more ways to react to an article and not just limited to a simple like. And interestingly even site visitors who have still not signed up can also react to articles.

We do allow users to post 3 reactions to each article. So you can react with Awesome, Nice and Loved emojis on the same article.

 Link Preview feature for Forum Posts enabled

Members will continue to share the links as they used to and we will automatically replace the URL with the details of the link. The same way how we have social links embedding feature.

However in order to prevent certain users from slowing down the page we have restricted this to posts which has less than or equal to 3 links in a post. If link count is higher than that we will disable the embedding feature on that post.

The story of IF is the story of us --pre IF, post IF. India Forums has introduced many creative ways to express ourselves. IF demonstrated our social life fabric in an enchanting way. It is a celebration of the human spirit.

Vijay's zest for continuous improvisation for a comfortable journey of every member made this place so special. The transition from planting to fruition, IF gifted you a comfortable you! To show you how to showcase your latent talent, here!

Now, our IF is a roaring teenager, rearing to run towards millions of members to make them smile. In all these years, IF has changed from existence to excellence in expansive expressiveness. 

Welcome friends. A new world was created on December 9, 2003. The cheers started arriving in the form of members from then on, and they’re still coming!

Each Member represents a world within, a world that may not be born until he/she arrives! I think everyone has a story to tell. We should all lend an ear sometimes. 

Make a wish, blow out the candles, let us celebrate another year, it's our day as we celebrate our expedition from past to present!

IF is now a sought-after niche for all serial watchers who love to discuss those sagas they watch daily.

A well-crafted stage for sharing views, participating in discussions, an ever-engaging place for all the social tête-à-tête. 

Foundation is the first step, achievement next, and establishment the biggest one in this fast-paced  world. But foundation day is the right moment to recollect the glorious past, study the present and enlighten ourselves for the future.

IF is a technological fair, interactive progress. Let us dig into the anthology of India forums to know more about our progressive past which lead us towards this ongoing futuristic pursuits, based on fairness, integrity, honesty, and human dignity in this journey.

It takes a lot of courage to show your dreams to someone, to share your thoughts with millions of members, through this IF social unit, you're educating a community Vijay.

As you rightly mentioned, 99% of people are inherently nice and helpful here.--- this IF association is for loving, sharing, learning, smiling, caring, forgiving, laughing, hugging, helping, dancing, wondering, healing, and even more loving.... yes more and more loving!

The greatest legacy one can pass on to their successors is faith and Winning Spirit. It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

In the initial JJKN blog days, Vijay began to make a team that would stay with the India forums for years, including its co-administrators and coordinators. 

We would like to thank all our Veteran members who have worked so hard to shape the IF in its initial stage to make it a user-friendly  global platform for good discussions.

 Soles so light upon the corridors of IF, a small group of selected members entered as Development Team, as naturally as a summer breeze. 

They are the pride of our community, the best of us, and you could see their hard work through their relentless efforts to turn this forum into a buzzing conversation hub.

We've already celebrated many years of success, many memories were made as an integral part of the website. In the presence of all the hardworking teams and the countless ventures, India Forums will continue to grow. As it continues to grow, it will continue to give us more cherishable memories.

Once, let's look back  to learn more about the transition, how our IF has progressed at that time, which we are enjoying now. 

A team of highly talented enthusiasts entered into the corridors of India Forums to assist Vijay Bhattar when he was looking for a few helping hands! Then started the beautiful journey of IF like this....... 

Their task-led conversation was interrupted only by jokes, often at the expense of their friends.Yet, the good-natured banter  that followed, it was clear that there had been no offense, quite the contrary, a cornucopia of delights. 

They enjoyed the witty repartee. They  used to tease and jibbed one moment and discussed team strategy the next, taking one another seriously and giving well thought responses.

 But the sensible talk could never last too long, soon the hilarity would start all over again. Were they in a class, it would be enough to drive any teacher crazy, but in IF they were their own bosses. There was no teacher, just a group of efficient members  who brought the best out of each other.

Again, duty called, they were swinging around the posts  as if they were playing with stars and sky.--- The celebration of togetherness was a levitation they shared, it raised them all up to a higher plane of emotional sphere. --- That weaved the DT members together as the most magnificent team, the guiding force of  the India Forums.

It takes grit, and it takes grace, with their  assiduity and diligence, they have converted many hysterical  moments  into historic events 

Thus began the journey of the India Forums!

18th January 2005 – Well reaches 5000 members mark. A great way to start the new year.

19th February 2005 – IF Blog launched.

23rd February 2005 – egreetings.in launched.

23rd March 2005 – India Forums Star Gallery launched

3rd May 2005 – 10,000 members

5th May 2005 – India Forums is the first forum in India (not sure about the world) which provides an option to create personal Home page.

30th June 2005 – 15000 members

14th July 2005 – India Forums reaches 20,000 members in a very short time. 

15th July 2005 – I-F Radio started.

6th August 2005 – We added the support for Skype & Yahoo Messenger to Members Profile.

28th August 2005 - Association with Craze FM, IF got a bevy of stars on air, first starting with Iqbal Khan.   Since then, we have had 27 stars so far.

India Forums is now a 25,+members forum!!! (July 14th 2005)


Feb 18th 2006, IF reached 100000 members.


1st September 2005 – India Forums reaches 30,000 members


3rd September 2005 – India Forums features in The Hindu

10th September 2005 - A special story carried on India-Forums by Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) and it appeared on several newspapers like: The Tribune, Indian Express, Yahoo India, New Kerala and many more.

19th September 2005 – 2903 on Alexa Rankings

6th October 2005 – Newsletter launched.


7th October 2005 - SIFY association for the "Fame Gurukul show".


19th October 2005 - SIFY extends its association for the "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa" Show.  IF is now the official discussion forum on the SIFY site for these shows.


13th October 2005 – Association with MTV – Roadies

23rd October 2005 – 50,000 members reached. (Reaching this milestone on my Birthday was so SPECIAL)  Vijay

27th October 2005 – India Forums Members Slam book introduced.

22nd November 2005 – 2311 on Alexa

December 2005 - India Forums reaches the 25 Million Page views a month! .

Channel Moderator To Global Moderator


My journey started  October 22nd 2005 in Kavyanjali forum. Joined Tamil sections and wrote updates there and became forums Viewbie on April 2007. On 27th May 2009, I had a pleasant surprise awaiting in my inbox.  In what I thought was supposed to be my promotion as the Moderator in Tamil Section turned out to be the Channel Moderator Promotion for Sun TV and in June 2011, I became Channel Moderator for India-Forums sections (top one) and on 26th November 2012, I was promoted as Global Moderator for India forums. There have been a few heart-wrenching moments during my journey, yet everything happens for a good, and enthralled by my second home!  A day doesn't go by without India-forums.com, a place I have made many friends. Happy 11th Birthday, India-forums.com!

DT Member To BollyCurry Head

I began my journey with BollyCurry by writing feature articles back in 2008-2009. To expand on this initiative, a small team of I-F members was formed. A team, which merely consisted of a couple of people when it started, is now comparatively quite large. Through this successful journey, I became in charge of the Newsroom operations of BollyCurry (i.e. we write all the fun feature articles!)

My DT journey has been equally intriguing. I joined the Development Team as a Coolbie. Shortly after, I was promoted to a Viewbie for the same section and followed the chain up to the Global Moderator position. It's been a bitter-sweet roller coaster ride but an unforgettable journey!

Viewbie To Crazy Creative Head

My journey first began at the Fan Fictions Forum on March 24th, 2008. Being an avid fan of fan fictions, I spent much of my time reading Angad-Kripa fan fictions and then later writing some. On August 9, 2010, I managed to get selected as a Buzzer for the BollyCurry team and later,  I got promoted to Viewbie of the Twilight Forum on January 5th, 2011.

Finally, on December 26th, 2011 I made it to the Crazy Creative team. On November 26th, 2013 I was promoted to Moderator. Shortly after, on December 31st, 2013 I was announced the new Crazy Creatives Head.

Ladder Group To BollyCurry Buzzer                   

Out of a dozen other popular Indian portals, I found myself creating an account on India-Forums mainly because of its wide coverage and user-friendly lay out. Becoming a part of the BollyCurry team has been just a stab in the dark, but I'm glad I took that stab because now, I can't imagine life without my fellow mates in the News Room or without keeping abreast with the world of Bollywood. BollyCurry has taught me more than I had initially expected. Whilst improving my writing and researching skills and learning from some senior members (free at that!), I'm having fun! Now, in particular, BollyCurry has become a part of me and I wouldn't want it any other way.
