Epilogue-
āPeep, peep!ā
Kunal pressed his horn for the second time since he drove off from the Chavan Nivas.
āUghh,how come there are so many freaking cars, all in a mad frenzy, at this time of the night?ā Kunal thought and then sighed.
āCāmon,Kunal! You need to calm down. Not each and every person sleeps at night and you are not the only one who is in a hurry. Calm down. Calm down. Sai is going to be fine.ā
An emotional Sai had run away from the house and with so many developments and so much happening around, no one had realized that it was highly unsafe for her to be out at night, especially when she was she was at her lowest best. Sai was completely lost and broken and the idea of her being alone when she was in such a miserable state had haunted Kunal, who had immediately taken out his car keys and gone on a search to find Sai.
The thought that Sai might be in any form of danger made Kunal ominous and he accelerated, desperate to be by her side.
āHey,be fine! You very well witnessed the comeback of Sai Joshi. Remember, as long as she is Sai Joshi, not even a lion can do her any harm.ā
Kunal mentally chuckled at his train of thought which was indeed a hyperbole. But it was true to an extent, of course! The way Sai ripped Kaku to shreds after re-introspecting on the times where she let the toxic matriarch have her own way, the way she told Virat that she desired to leave and the way she snapped at Ashwini Aai for beginning with her non-sense allover again, Kunal honestly wanted to do some cheerleading for her. He wanted to sit with pop-corn and enjoy the show as it played out and reached its conclusion but then, Sai got all emotional with Virat and Kunal, for the nth time, realized that Sai loved Virat. Kunal knew this since the day he first met Sai after her accident. It was just so apparent, the way Saiās facial expressions changed whenever Virat was being talked about, the way she always tried to defend his wrongdoings and the way she got exasperated whenever Kunal tried to list out Viratās grave shortcomings. Kunal knew it all along but never told her the truth. He knew that despite everyoneās persistent attempts to make Sai realize her love for Virat, she never paid heed to anyoneās words. But if Kunal told her the same, she might be a little reluctant initially, but ultimately, she would accept his words as the truth. Kunal did want Sai to have clarity about her feelings and emotions and for this, her realizing her love was a must but he still decided to not spill the truth. He didnāt want Sai to realize her love in the most unrealistic way and also, he didnāt want to leave her in a dreamy la-la-la world where she could imagine a fairytail-ish romantic ending to their love story. The end to their story was certainly tragic no matter how much they tried and Kunal wanted Sai to realize this as well. He wanted Sai to realize her love but also wanted her to realize that this love was just not worth it. He wished that Sai saw things just as they were without any filter of optimism. After all being optimistic is not always the prudent thing to do!
Kunal suddenly stopped his car and quickly got out of it. As he looked ahead at the place where he had found himself driving to, he was unsure and yet sure that Sai would be found here. He sent a quick prayer to all the Gods above to be proven true and praying was something Dr. Mahajan rarely did.
As he started walking, he was sure of one thing. If Sai hadnāt come in terms with her feelings, she probably never would, even in the near-future but if she had, he was extremely sure that she had also realized the repercussions of it and was likely to stay on the rocky but the right path!

As the already dark night turned even darker with every passing second, Sai sat along the waters of the Nag Nadi on a bench, thinking about the incredible turn her life had taken, just in a single day. Until yesterday, she was just studying and playing around happily with her Modak and today, she had left him with a resolve to never see him again.
āAh, this challenge called life,ā Sai thought and then suddenly remembered her Virat Sirās face when she had left.
It had taken every ounce of self-control and will she had ever had, to leave him while his breath-taking hazel brown eyes pleaded or rather begged her to stay. Her heart had shattered into two pieces when she had seen his shoulders slump and his face accept defeat. She had stopped breathing when he couldnāt even cry or hug her properly. He had said that he wanted her happiness and was fine with her leaving but only she knew that his ears were dying to hear the words she was never going to speak. He was so dead, so lost and so was she.
āBut then, choosing to do what is right is never easy. It is easy to choose the wrong path and difficult to choose the right path.ā Saiās conscience reminded her and she wholeheartedly agreed to it.
āBut if you hadnāt left, it would still be fine. After all, you love him Sai and so does he,ā Saiās heart fought. Sai disagreed with it on the point that she should have stayed but couldnāt help but feel her heart twitch as she once again realized that she indeed loved her Virat Sir.
What an irony it was that she had realized her love for her husband only when she was leaving him for once and for all! While leaving,she had seen something in his eyes. That look of devastation he held in his eyes was something she too had in hers and that was when she realized that both of them were madly in love with each other. And yet, she had left.
She could have stayed with him and got temporary happiness and love. But what would it have resulted into? More anger,heartbreak, fights and hurt. More and more anguish. Yes, that was what their relationship was about. They could stay happy with each other only for a while because at the end of the day, their relationship was nothing but toxic. They were in love with each other,definitely, but love is not the only thing a healthy relationship demands. A true relationship needs faith, trust and understanding. People say that opposite attracts but this is a statement which is fully true only for magnets.For two people to live with each other, their thoughts must match at least somewhere. Virat and Sai were different, very different and they could never find their happiness in each other. In such cases, it is the best that two people separate soon to avoid heartbreak and immense agony in the future. This is what Sai did. She had realized that she and Virat were not good for each other. They would keep hurting each other and this way, neither of them would have been truly happy. What she had decided would bring the two of them a lot of agony initially but would turn out to be a prudent decision in the future.
āHe has his entire family by his side. They will surely take care of him. And I have Kunal.ā
Kunal, this name itself was enough to make her feel positive and happy. With a broad smile on his face, she recollected how he fought for her today, gave it back to everyone who tried to hurt her and protected her from everyoneās accuses and demands. He was and would always be the person closest to her heart after her Aaba. When they got separated, she had felt her world shatter but then, with her Aabaās dangerous job, Jagtapās issue, her Aabaās death and her marriage, his memory took a backseat. She had always kept him in her soul but with so much torture all around, his absence seemed like a less significant one.
āBut it was not the same for him,ā Sai thought and her soul hurt when she remembered his words.
She had not been as hurt with their separation as he had been. She had a lot on her head, he didnāt. She had lived with many reasons of anguish,he had lived with just one. She loved him, more than he had ever imagined and the thought of him living with constant pain of her memories haunted her.
āItās okay. You are never going to leave him again. We will always be together now, no matter what.Anyways, him leaving would mean me dying,ā Sai thought and the idea of him being with her lifelong soothed her soul.
As she looked at the starless sky, the strong wind made her quench her eyes. She then felt someone slip into the seat beside her.Without even looking, she was sure it was Kunal. She wasnāt even surprised by the fact that he located her without any qualms. All this was just so normal for both of them.
She could feel his eyes on her but she still didnāt look at him. Kunal stayed quiet, letting her get comfortable. Finally, she turned her head and met his eyes which were looking at her intently. Thatās when they began with their eye communication. Some questions were asked from her side,some were answered from his side. Some were just left unanswered, kept for later.
Kunal slowly held both her hands and cordially smiled at her. Sai too smiled at him and kept her head on his left shoulder, never leaving his hands for even once.
āHe will always be there, like forever,ā Sai thought and let her features relax. She just breathed in his presence and a carefree expression soon adorned her face.
They sat like that for a long time without speaking for even once. As both of them slowly looked up, the sun finally rose. Both of them looked forward to the new day and the next set of challenges, TOGETHER

Hii guys! So the story has ended finally and I feel happy at completing my first ever Fan-Fiction. It just made me realize my writing range and I honestly loved writing for all of you and myself.
