I want to point out the how Imlie broke into pieces bit by bit:

-- Imlie believed that Adi will not only take her information seriously, he will also believe her instantly and will be broken because he trusted wrong person like Malini

-- By that time, Imlie knew Adi won't believe her but she kept trying. Then Adi asked for proof. He not only didn't help her in collecting the proof, he berated her for every attempt to collect it herself. Still she didn't loose hope.
4.) When she collected the proof, she was sure that now she has completed his condition of presenting the proof, so now Adi will believe her.
-- Adi not only deleted the proof, he believed AC over Imlie, which Imlie would not have imagined in her worst nightmare.
-- Deleting proof and believing AC are two different things. He could have deleted the proof for kid while still believing Imlie. But he CHOSE to believe AC.
5.) After that their relation was hanging by thread so much so that Imlie felt hesitant to enter his room , to share her doubts about Pranav with him. With Pranav, she again proved that her reading of people and situation is accurate to T. Adi himself told Malini about this, still he didn't doubt Malini.
6.) Imlie allowed Malini to stay after pregnancy reveal because Adi told her , "ab aagey jo hoga vo tum decide karogi". She realized she made a mistake in allowing Malini to stay and she had trust on Adi that since he gave her the power to make decisions, he would agree with her. He didn't agree . Not only he didn't trust her, he also broke her trust on him.
7.) Malini indicated that she will again do something big, she tried everything in her power to make Adi realize that something big is about to happen. Adi again didn't take it seriously and dismissed it. Who paid the cost of that : Her Dadda. SK should have been jailed to try to kill Adi but what he was jailed for, he didn't do.
8.) Imlie tried to tell Adi that her Dadda didn't do it, what Adi said "jhooth bolne ki bhi had hoti hain". Then Malini said "SK didn't shoot her, Imlie did". Then he believed that SK didn't shoot. What did he do "I have a question for you."
Now is this just one mistake and one question.
So, beautifully explained.
I don’t see as Imlie is being butchered or Imlie is not the Imlie we knew from episode 1. Goofiness is her defense mechanism from the beginning. When she was staying at T house in the beginning, it was these goofiness that made her cope with the issues and bounce back. And experiences molds us and the changes in Imlie’s attitude right now is because of the experiences she had.
the change in attitude regarding Malini is because, when she let Malini stay at their house she thought that Adi and she were on the same page, and first time she thought their trust in each other was above everything else and second time she thought that now Adi saw the proof he will not be no longer blind to Malini’s plottings. But now, she knows that they are not on the same page and Adi’s trust in her comes with conditions and hence her demand that Malini be send home.
I feel Imlie accepted to stay at Aryan’s house because of two factors.
1. She had met his mother and sister and had hit it off with them immediately. He is not just a boss at office, she knew his family by the time he offered her a room for rent.
2. She had been homeless, he had saved her from assault and when she refused the offer at first, he actually offered her to keep her self respect and accept the stay by asking for rent.
And at present Adi’s warnings are not based on any solid fact. And Aryan is also not helping Imlie to use her against Adi as was his monologue based on his decision of bringing Imlie home.
And Imlie refusing Adi’s warning it is because she had reacted more on his taunts on “her friend” and she got this feeling that he is doubting her character. And not because she wants to hurt Adi.
It makes sense for Imlie to not seek help from T family because she had left that house and their immediate solution would be come back home and might forcefully take her home with emotional blackmailing. And let’s all accept that T family have never supported her opposite Malini, even today after all that happened they are still calling Malini, “beta”.
wanted to mention this yesterday but forgot… Adi was so heartbroken and shattered hearing Imlie saying she was a naukrani at T house. Where was this despair and anger when AC used to come to his house after all the JM expose and still used to call his wife a “naukrani”?
Regarding Imlie’s contribution to the whole mess by forcing Adi to hide their marriage from all. Imlie did ask for her right on his wedding day and he had taunted her and accused her. Then she had sacrificed her marriage for Aparna. By the time Adi had realized his love and accepted their marriage, their truth would have hurt the whole family and Malini, and her fears were proved right when their marriage was revealed to all. So, Imlie didn’t add to the mess, she just delayed it.
Aparna’s question regarding Adi introducing Imlie as a naukrani after bringing her home was not about the family accepting Imlie as his wife that time, I feel what she meant by that is if he had told the truth then the bigamy wouldn’t have happened and his life wouldn’t be a mess now.
in my understanding, the whole mess can be sorted by only two people, Malini or Adi.
Malini accept that Adi and Imlie are the true husband and wife and what she thought was grand love was just friendship and move out, which will never happen.
Or Adi realize that Malini has been plotting and causing all the problems and keep her at a distance and be just co-parents and no longer gehri dosts.
He needs to realize that he can no longer keep Imlie and Malini at his house. Can he guarantee that when Malini’s mood strikes, that she wouldn’t rape him again? Or her mother give him drugs and dresses up her daughter as Imlie and send to his room to celebrate honeymoon again?
