This is not about general rules. The issue they are handling is super sensitive. It could have serious societal repercussions. Interns sitting around a table or not has nothing to do with the society we live in. Iss koi fark nahi padnewala. These technicalities are not important.
But a movie/show has to be really careful when they are dealing with sexual abuse, caste issues etc etc. Especially when the audience is lay people.
And I am glad even though not so on the face, Mahima's dailogue did make me happy. It just made me realise they are not that far gone and that's a good thing.
PS: Grey's anatomy and Scrubs are not at all a reflection of how actual hospitals work. They also get a lot wrong. But there are certain things you can't afford to get wrong.
