The very first episode of MHRW - Sigh it is a beauty in itself.
Pallavi a widow who runs back to the home to get one saree that the customer likes. You can see her striving so hard to not even lose a customer and for her customer coming to DSE is akin to a god as she treats DSE as her father-in-law's temple. You can see the Pallavi who literally strived hard to be the ideal bahu cum beti for the Deshmukh family. She can't even enjoy a few moments of peace for herself yet her innocent heart can't resist twirling in the rain. Pallavi enjoying the rain was such a beautiful sight and the happy tune of Pallavi - it is so heart touching. We as audience got robbed of seeing Pallavi enjoying the rain and her Ghamandi Rao watching her mesmerized.
Krishna's mother represents the society which always wants Pallavi to be adorned with the white color to remind her of her widowhood. I felt sad seeing the meek girl wearing the white saree and that is because she did not want anyone to raise fingers on her In-laws and on her Deshmukh family. Shivangi was so very beautiful in the white saree with minimal makeup. She stole my heart when she walks alone in the night near Chaarminar.
Raghav a guy who has tons of money is roaming around with a girl in his car. To tell the truth, I was really impressed to see the driver speak Telugu dialogues here - I was like Hain? They are legit giving telugu dialogues. Raghav and his dialogues about Love - You know that this guy when he falls in love will go above and beyond because Love for him is not something that you joke about but an all-encompassing feeling. I absolutely loved the way Sai emotes the angry Raghav in the first episode.
The fate intervenes and Pallavi gets stuck due to her slipper getting broken and Raghav comes as his car runs into a problem. A little girl who earlier wanted to sell sindoor to pallavi but stops herself seeing that she is a widow runs to Raghav. Raghav buys the sindoor not because he needs it but because he can't see the little girl working so late in the night and you hear the trademark RR dialogue Ardhamaiyanda for the first time here. Raghav throwing the sindoor and it landing on Pallavi - Best cinematography I have ever seen on Indian TV. This scene is iconic - the overhead camera shot, the slow motion falling of sindoor, the placement of the lead characters - you know that this is going to be a an awesome ride. And fate has already linked Raghav with Pallavi.
The other 2 important scenes are Raghav fighting with goons for Keerti and Aayi taking care of Pallavi. I loved the brash and brawny attitude of Raghav - He has devil may care look and the fights were awesomely choreographed. No wonder Sai wants to do action thriller next - He would ace the role. Aayi and Pallavi talk was nice and beautiful - I really wished they didn't butcher Aayi during the Mandaar track because she really was a progressive MIL who wanted to get her widowed DIL remarried. Also did the actress Ashmita suffer from some condition - In the last episodes you can see Aayi gaining weight and her neck area is really swollen and puffy. I don't know if that is the reason why she was absent from the last episode but as someone who always wanted to see Pallavi remarried, it would have been good if Aayi was there when Raghav and Pallavi renew their marriage vows. Well - I will imagine that she was there.
The title song - It really is catchy and the way the song was picturized on the lonely Raghav and the widowed Pallavi, You can feel the angst and dard for both of them. Raghav enters a lonely and dark mansion - wounded and alone with no one to call his own. Pallavi doesn't like the color red. By the end of the show, Raghav got his home back with his mother, his sister and the brightness and happiness returns back in his life. Pallavi by the end always is dressed up in bright colors and I so loved the kissing bts of Pallavi and Raghav. The journey was superb - I don't regret falling in love with the characters or this show but my only regret is that Sickand was the producer for this show. Had it been someone else, we would have gotten a better story. But the team at MHRW needs to be congratulated because it is very rare to see this kind of technical quality and direction.
I am quite busy the next few days so I will chip in for whenever I can and for the episodes I absolutely loved. Hope you all liked my analysis of the first episode.
