with Thu Thu uncle I’ve learnt patience. A lot of patience. There were times people were like AK isn’t a business mind he isn’t shutting up and why can’t Anu leave. But what I’ve noticed is that these writers love it when the characters compeletely breakdown and have a self realisation - and then love starts. Which is what is going to happen here. Akshu will realise she needs to choose herself and put herself first for once then only can she love Abhi completely. But hey no conversation straight love confession 😆

If Arohi goes on some slapping spree I hope the family members give her a good shake. As it is they were initially seeking Abhi's hand for Akshu anyway, so it's their misunderstanding, and not Akshu's fault.

It's funny, Akshu's character is one of those typically saccharine tyaag-ki-devi types I usually hate, but Pranali has this way of making me care for her and want to wrap her up in a big hug I still cannot believe that I, of all people, am watching the world's most troll-worthy show but HC and Pranali have found a way to keep me engaged, even peripherally at this stage. Damn you, RS *shakes fist at sky*

Abhi's family is all kinds of a hot mess One brother is married to a career woman of his "barabari" and is unhappy and constantly undermining her, and the other is married to a woman he considers "beneath him" and is unhappy and constantly undermining her then there's the son who is basically a stay-at-home-nothing who cribs about his wife's passion for her career, and then the sautela kid who I still don't understand what his deal is. And not forgetting the INSANELY prophetic dynamic of Mahima and Manjiri, two sisters who are meant to symbolise and parallel Arohi and Akshu, except that Manjiri would quite clearly adore Akshu under ordinary circumstances but she is desperate for her husband's approval, and therefore is pushing her "doctor bahu" nonsense, and may even resent Akshu at a later stage even if she's the one Abhi clearly loves, just because it sours her own relationship with her loser husband. And Mahima, who is clearly the smartest person in this family at this point is using this MU for mischief basically, and to secure her own elevated position in the family, above her sister, because she thinks Akshu will be more malleable and manipulatable than Arohi. And when her own husband dismisses her achievements a as a doctor (sorry, surgeon ), she passes on that dismissive behaviour to her own sister.

What a weird and complicated family this is if this wasn't ITV I'd say this was a really interesting dynamic to be explored during the course of the show, but I don't expect them to give it any nuance. What I do think is that Akshu will eventually marry Abhi, and Arohi will marry Neil just to get close to Abhi and to hurt Akshu (poor her and poor Neil), and Mahima will take full advantage of this dynamic.

I really hope Akshu gets to a point soon where she learns to stand up for herself. I said upthread she makes me care for her, but not when she's doing her annoying Aruu-jaap then, I just want to shake some sense into her

Yeah, this annoyed me too 😡 first of all there was no need for a part 2, and if they wanted to do it, couldn't they have chosen a new character/family? The essence of SGP was the dynamic between Suhana and Badi Ma, more than the romantic r/s with Ishaan. I don't get the point of this, they'll just ruin the OG 👎🏼

But on the surgeon thing, many of them actually DO have this weird thing about not being called a doctor even if they have to qualify as one to become a surgeon in the first place, they still see it as beneath them 🤪 so that at least is quite true to life IMO 😆
