There are two types of stage performances - one which brings the roof down and the other where you have good slow (often melodious) singing. Both kind will get audiences - but most probably different type of audience or sometimes same audience, but in different mood. so is it a good idea in a show to have both type of singers or just one type is better. - I have attended very few live shows to have an idea.(was thinking in context of these 4 and also the next 4 in UK tour)

I had organized musical shows for my club (large club) at some time and in my younger days I had been part of Durga Puja shows for my neighborhood puja.
Based on my experience - it depends on the crowd.
A club would prefer a melody show or classical show by top artists. A Shreya night or a Rashid Khan Night or a Folk song night. Only the New Year brings in bands and bring the roof down type singers.
Para (locality) shows can be both types. An Arijit Night is a bigger seller than a Himesh R night. But there is room for Neha Kakkar's and even Anushka Banerjee's 😃
Melody singers are best with their own night. Or as a duo act. In the sort of 4 singer mix that we have they will always get poorly placed. But they are equally needed for the shows overall Idol feel balance.
The next tour will be interesting because of SMP mainly. The placement will be crucial. She won't start I think like Sayli.
We will get a taste in Hyd on 18th December.

We will also see better balance in Israel. That is a better mix for Arunita.

UK and Canada has lot of Punjabis and Pakistanis (even they are mostly Punjabi only) so there are lot of them, I think who prefer peppy music. US will be more people from Southern part of India - so maybe in US people would prefer different kind of music (compared to UK and Canada). Hope they pick the songs knowing what people lthere would like to hear.

Chokolate Pi is the Curator. He knows the market.
It all depends on the band. If they get an Indian band then you can expect variety. This band - plus the short rehearsal window limited what could be perfected for a show I feel.
Indian bands are more versatile. I am hoping that the organizers pay for one in the forthcoming shows.
