but I disagree with your unpopular opinion that Adi didn't distrust Imlie.

I'll be honest, the "contrivance" is what I bought into too for a good amount of time. But Friday and today made me understand that the so-called contrivances are the ones that compile the story. Was it not contrivance when the gareebon ka awaaz and sach keliye marjaane wala AKT, ek maasoom ladki ko ghar leaake usko naukraani banaadiya and sabse jhoot bola and just because M fainted, gharwaalon ko nahi bataaya? It was his character, right? he was in denial mode, right? If that is not a contrivance, how is it that anything he's doing now becomes a contrivance? I'm questioning myself too. The guy is flawed, he made mistakes and is making mistakes now. We can't brush it off as contrivance just because we don't like it. 'We' includes me too. That is AKT if we like it or not.
