Ho raat savere, shaam ya dopehari
Band aankhon me le ke tumhe ungha karenge hum
Takiye chaadar mehake rehte hain
Jo tum gaye
Tumhari khushboo soongha karenge hum
O.. zulf mein phansi hui khol denge baaliyaan
Kaan khinch jaaye agar
Kha lein meethi gaaliyaan
Chunte chale pairon ke nishaan
Ki unn par aur na paanv pade

Tumhari dhadkanein, tumhari dil sune
Tumhari saans sune, lagi kampkapi
Haan gajre bune, juhi mogra toh kabhi dil
Humaara dil, pyar mein haara bechara dil
Humara dil, humara dil
Pyaar mein haara
Bechara dil…

Whenever I see Gaura in their private moments, they remind me of the Chemistry of comfort. Their love story developed with great understanding and conversations; they were childhood friends first who understood each other so well. In a heartbeat, they would understand their fears, insecurities and needs. Marriage just sealed the deal for them.

There are days when Dhara’s overbearing interference would smother the day, but one thing remains unchanged-the chemistry of comfort for Gaura as a couple.

Pregnancy, it's complications, insecurities, mental status, and sometimes pre-natal depressing anxiety is so vulnerable, annoying yet beautiful at the same time.

Ideal relationships don't exist in real life. Human beings are vulnerable, and that's Gaura for me.

I love all the individual couples, and Gaura romantic scenes have a distinct glamour, familiarity and comfort despite Dhara’s hormonal Harmonium and petticoat chaap Gaumbi’s lack of verbal communication. Gaumbi loves his phast phast action and is always in mood 🤣

Gajra has a special place in their romance. Often, in many households in Indian hinterlands, the men would bring Gajra to express their sexual desires and interests for their women. Juhi, Madurai Malli or Mogra flowers have an exquisite fragrance that induces sensuality. Also, it keeps the tel-masala smells far away.

Needless to say, I love the drunk Gaumbi expressing his ‘Meri Pyari Dhara’ song 🤣🤣

My Nasheela Gaumbi was in total louuu and biwi Bhakti mode!!!

Image

I love their moment where Dhara holds Gautam. Gaumbi is often viewed through Dhara’s lens, and Dhara has always been his anchor in his vulnerable moments. It's vice-versa. Gautam never gets mad at Dhara’s Harmonium. Both balance each others vulnerability so beautifully.

Image

The essence of warmth that they both crave for.

Image

They look surreal, like a vision. I like how the couples in this show have their own flavour. Gaura holding each other are peace personified.

Image

Dhara flips often. But, she has always been this banshee who would just do things impulsively contrasting to the simple and calm Gautam

Image

Such a peaceful vision. My Gaumbi looks like a sleeping beauty 😆

Image

Today's episode was beautiful too. Dhara looks dainty with her dainty lips and Mehekta Mogra Gajra is there again ❤️

Image

I love this frame. The amber wash frames of Gaura! I have a weakness for Mogra flowers. People who know me in real life would agree 😆

Goddess Meenakshi, the reigning deity at the Meenakshi Amman temple in Madurai, loves malligai flowers so much that she literally bathes in the fragrant flower six times a day. In the spring festival of Chithirai, it appears as if all the jasmine produced in this temple town in Tamil Nadu ends up adorning her abode, from her garlands to the decorations on her mythical beast yaali, to her poo-pallakku (floral palanquin), which will carry her to her wedding with Lord Sundareswarar. The couple—reincarnations of Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati—live happily ever after, the jasmine on Meenakshi’s thirumangalyam (nuptial pendant) marking their contentment, peace and love. Also, perhaps, romance and sensuality.

Yuthika is the name of a beautiful Jasmine vine with fragrant, attractive white flowers. The flower has traditionally been a part of a lady’s tress — especially for one who appreciates fragrant flowers. Stories and songs of Krishna are full of reference to jasmine flowers, such as Kalita-lalita-vanamala. Kalita means “very beautiful and astonishing,” and it refers to Krishna’s garland of forest flowers. That garland is made by Radha (Wife of Lord Krishna) from beli (Jasmine Sambac), Chameli and Juhi (species of Jasmine) flowers, and also from tulsi leaves (ocimum) and manjaris (ocimum Inflorescence).

Image

My Gaumbi trying to Manao roothi biwi 😆

Image

I love this one too!

With callused hands
i tasted
the softness of the moon

in the coldest winds
i discovered
my soul's
warmest fireplace

in the roughness
of his stubble
the tenderest love.

Dhara looks like a vision in this frame. No wonder, Gautam loves her the way he does, or Shiva worships the soil on which she walks. The one woman who commands them all ❤️

Image

Shiny is dainty ❤️

Complaining Harmonium Dhara 😂🥴

We are all vulnerable human beings and often fall prey to our weaknesses. We are all selectively hypocritical and make our own set of rules. Dhara is highly flawed, but she is the axis around which Gautam revolves!

Sometimes life is hard ... so we have to squeeze it, touch it, play with it, and make it soft like a dough! Now it's soft enough to be shaped in any way we want! Keep moving, touching life, as this will keep it smooth and fun!

Piu this is so aptly put. All said and done, the bond that these two share deep down is one that most couples in real life, who are still wholly committed and in love will have.

Despite the ott feelings and reactions they show of Dhara, we all know that she has done much for the family that she has thought of out of love and for Gautam, because the responsibility was put on him suddenly after his father's demise, she became the person he could share the burden with and expect her to carry it without complain, like one does with weights on.a weighing scale, to balance it out.

More jumbled thoughts that I'll post when I get a chance 😊😊.

I love you analysis ❤❤❤

One of the reason why I am still addicted to the IF and show is the analysis of all the beautiful members done which helped me get connected with the characters and show plus the IF members also.

Thank you for this analysis.

I love Shivi bond, thie rmadness, their intense emotion but to be truthful I will always want comfort and understanding in real life which Gaura share.❤

The whole drunken scene was awesome. It was kinda giving comfort and peace and was beautiful.🤍💚❤

Min 🤗

So true and aptly put.

In the past ten years, Dhara and Gautam unknowingly became parents to 3 kids despite their tender age where love, romance and camaraderie should have blossomed.

Though we aren't shown how and what all they went through, but they had to take care of a disabled mother like Suman, who is selectively vile and switches between right and wrong like a frustrated kid. They had three kids, including Shiva, who is quite a handful on his own.

Then, a loan to pay off and financial burdens. Imagine those ten years of youth worrying about everything else in the world, sacrificing whatever they could in their capacity.

I do not mind them behaving like 18-year-olds or having a lovers tiff, or even enjoying countless SR’s.

I get from where all this love stems from. When you are devoid of a particular phase of a natural courtship period, there comes a stage where you try to do those things.

If I step into the shoes of Gaura, there's a strange empathy I feel for them. Like every other Indian household which is dysfunctional at some level or another, these two make me feel sad, angry and love all at the same time.

In general, my biggest pet peeve about PS is public tamasha and random Abhi tho party shuru Hui hai dances 🤣

Else, you can find warmth in every character, including Mami.

I find Anita hilarious too. Even Disha, I do have a lot to say about her.

There's no defence to anything that's happening but human behaviour is often shaped by the situations that are around them.

Not everyone is a rebel. We all do things with a pinch of selective hypocrisy. That only makes us humans.

No wonder Gautam loves her the way he does and shiva worships the soil which she walks on.the one woman who commands them all.

This line ❤️

I love some characters and I don't like some others but dhara is someone who manages to give rise to multiple emotions within me. I love her In some scenes, In some other scenes i want to shout, woman are you crazyyy?, Sometimes I am in awe of her sacrifices as a woman and the way she handled the family for ten long years, and sometimes I am like what the hell are you doing?

But everything aside, gaura ne Ghar ko tab sambhala when they had noone.at an age where they should be carefree, doing matargashti and enjoying their lives they became parents.

PS- I love gajraa 🤩

A neat bun adorned with gajra is one of my fav looks

And of course what better if the hubby makes the wifey wear that?.gajraromance 😉

Beautiful post piu.

Your analysis kind of makes me see things in a different light when I am frustrated with the show.keep them coming ❤️

I have often witnessed how much you read all the comments on the EDT.

Honestly, I did start watching for Kinshuk, and then Shivi topped my loved list. However, I love Gaura too.

The narrative is engaging, with areas of grey as there's no black and white. Everyone gets flak; every character is flawed. I am not watching this show for heroes or heroines. There's no heroic tale. It's a straightforward telling of a story with regular ITV tropes, which I cringe at.

For me, moral ambiguity in characters doesn't matter much as long as there is progress.

I was invested equally well when Dolly from Dolly Kitty and Chamakte sitare walked out of an institution called marriage or Bulbul dwindled with emotional infidelity in Bulbul or back in the ’80s or ’90s Veerawali in a show was banished from society when she went for a premarital relationship.

There was a show called Hasratein about relationships without demonising anyone.

Today afternoon, I was watching The Wedding Guest starring Dev Patel and Radhika.

In any show, characters have their own journey.

Yes, I hardly comment on things but I love reading the comments.

About ITV, i have started watching this show for entertainment only where the whole family was together, no negative person at that time after many years as I had stopped watching ITV altogether.

I later on became Shivi fan but at first I was fan of their family bonding even preleap times.

Previously, I didnt used to take it seriously, after joining the forum, i got so mant analysis, different perceptions that made me invest in this show.

I still do not take seriously while watching ITV or movies but from here, i got to know that the characters they write have so much of background and so much to explore.

I loved your analysis especially of Shiva and Dhara - it made me understand it on whole different level.

❤❤❤

Thank you, Aliya 🤗

I trust everyone connects to the show for different reasons and levels, and I respect that. However, a domino effect is a reality. I, therefore, refrain from getting too attached to the narrative or reading what anyone else has to say about any show. I rarely read movie reviews or anything else before watching. It gives me clarity of what is it that I am watching. There are many trigger points but watching it from a distance gives another point of view.

Pixie, I am glad you read this with an open mind. The amount of hate that Dhara gets is intriguing.

Characters that evoke extreme reactions are the ones that coax people to think, ponder and question.

I have often believed that Platonic relationships leave a lot of open speculation, and we as human beings tend to box emotions and people. At the same time, we keep non-romantic relationships in a sidelined area.

Dhara gets a lot of flak, sometimes rightfully, but no one can deny that she is the backbone of the family. She was dominant, shared Gautam’s load and never really had the time to indulge herself in anything.

If she enjoys these numerous SR’s with Gautam and has meltdowns, it only shows her to be human and not the demigod.

Couples do insane things despite years of being married. I will be 40 in the next two years, yet the stunts we do as a couple are insane. It's okay to connect to your inner child.

She is going cranky and ballistic right now. The problem is Shiny’s acting in certain scenes. She looks exceptionally ethereal when she is in her element.

There's no denial of her crazy ways, but behind every action of hers is a heart full of love! She gave away everything for this family. Right or wrong, but she did whatever she thought would be best. She is terrible at so many levels, but then some moments make her the centre of the universe of Pandya Land!
