I'm not really sure what to expect from this month's pick. Lahiri's books always get polar reviews. But I have been wanting to read one of her books for a long time and this gives a good opportunity to meet that goal. I hope I like it. Thanks for the pick, Anam!

Same I wanted to read her work too. But the fact that the stories/chapters in this book are so long is putting me off from starting it. :(

Please tell me the stories are divided in parts!

As far as I understood, they are all short stories, not chapters in a single story, so you shouldn't have much problem.

And yes, the book is divided into two parts, each with several stories in it.

Do let me know how Norse Mythology is. I want to attempt reading one between Circe, Norse Mythology or The Song of Achilles before the year ends.

Just finished reading The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood and it was an enjoyable read, perfect if you want to get out of a reading slump.

I'm almost halfway through Norse Mythology. I think reading The Song of Achilles is the best chance you've got of enjoying mythology. Circe is good but it's very slow. And Norse Mythology is not written as a single story but several little information given in small chapters in the form of short stories. Also it's written to be readable for children, so that's something you should consider before picking it up. You might be familiar with some names like Thor, Loki, Odin, Frigg, Jotunheim, Mjunir, etc. if you have watched the MCU movies, but the stories surrounding them is quite different. Some of the names (that were previously unfamiliar to me) are very difficult and I won't be remembering them all in a single read.

Although, I have to say, I'm liking the stories. Then again, I usually enjoy mythology, so that might be why😊 I personally liked (loved!) Madeline Miller's books way more than I'm liking Gaiman's.

I've started reading Unaccustomed Earth. I've read only two chapters yet, and in the middle of the third one, but so far I'm liking it. I don't think I'll be able to enjoy it as much if all her books went the same way, as I've heard is the case with this one and her first book. I hope that's not the case. I'll like to read more of Lahiri's works.
