Well my friends, is it necessary to have prior knowledge of the song while you judge the song.. Comments from Farah khan totally confused me when she said her judgement depends upon how the original song was sung by the original singer...

What if she has to judge the international singing competition where the chances of songs which she has never listened before comes to her...

As far as my musical knowledge is concerned, i think the judges should not totally rely on the prior knowledge of the song and also if the judge is not able to judge the new songs then he/she doesn'tdeserve to be their on the set since he/she is just confined with his/her own expereinces on judging- based upon listening to the original track...

When Harshit sang the song last week, i felt it was a bit uncomfortable at the beginning and after few lines it was superb and deserved 10... i was kinda shocked to hear judges opinion about judging the entirely new songs..

So this mean these judges are not able to judge int. competition

I was thinking the same thing. The first time I heard Main Agar Kahoon was when Aneek sang it in SRGMP, but I was still able to form an opinion on his performance. And again this week Farah said the same thing to Harshit, and this time it was a song that most people actually have heard. Any good judge should be able to judge any song being sung.

Exactly!!

I was quite surprised when she said that to Harshit.

My mom was hearing the song for the first time and she loved his performance.

Its not necessary to know a song and then judge it.

Folks, Farah is not a singer and does not have minute knowledge of music as well so I am not surprised she said that! A lot of non musical ppl do rely on the original song to compare and judge a person singing the same song ... so i will not really blame her for it!
Ofcourse a comment like that coming from VS, which did happen last week on Harshit's song again, wud be way too much!
VS am sure know enuff music to be able to judge songs that they havent heard b4 and their comment was really too much! 😕

I find it unfair to the singers. They should sing whatever they feel is best for their voice and also songs which they do like. It doesnt matter if the judges know it or not. Its all about giving a brilliant performance.

Its unfair to the singers coz now they will have to select songs based on the judges.
