See mere hisab se Malini ka character was supposed to be this mature sweet girl who has been put in an impossible situation and how she dealt with it. She has her own issues, bit it was still majorly a fluff kind of role she had to portray, which she was able to do decently well.

Issue was that she was just not able to convince the audience with her acting to pull it off when she learnt the truth and was supposed to be this independent and sensible woman who takes these things in stride and moves on in life. So, to keep her relevant in the story, the makers are trying to make her almost vampish and are justifying that vampyness with these bouts of extreme reactions from her where she looks fake while trying to lament on why Adi does not love her anymore and tries to gain sympathy from the audience, which she will not get, because both her acting and her actions do not feel genuine.

Also her actions and her kands are so juvenile that it annoys the audience even more when she does not get caught - everyone else has been dumbed down to justify them not seeing her true side

See even Pranav was bad, still a lot of liked him, because his creepy and sleazy actions and thought process made sense to us from day one due to the acting and apt characterization.

Here DD is just not able to convince us of her mental state, which is why she needs those long monologues, which also do not work because of her poor voice modulation - hence her utter failure as both a good character and as a vamp.

I am not able to come up with any more worst case scenarios - anything else you guys can think of that Malini can do to ruin the function (big kaand - not this dupatta tearing, Anu ko haddi banaoing, fainting or any chindi kands like that - usse toh hum comepletely immune ho chuke hai)

You're right. There really isn't much that Malini can do that will be worse than her sexual assault and trying to sell Imlie off into slavery! I mean, the depths of depravity have been achieved with these 2 acts and it is really difficult to beat that.

She will not directly attack Imlie since that will be pretty moot now, since all the Tripathis seem to have woken up to what an amazing bahu Imlie is (apparently, saving their son several times over from dying, often by putting herself in danger wasn't sufficient, but it was really sajaoing Mata Rani's darbar and saving Rupi from her loser husband that clinched the deal for them!!! Whatevs!!!) She also will not do idiotic things like trying to insert herself between them at Dandia or lock Imlie or try to get her drunk etc., because this will all be basically repetition of things that she has already done at various other events at the Tripathi Nivas.

I feel she will now play on the goodness of Imlie and Adi's guilt at having wronged her after 7 yrs ki dosti and on Janmashtami night. I think what might happen is while the entire family is enjoying the Dandia, she will faint or something and Anu would have arranged with some quack doctor by paying him a lot of $$$ to say that Malini is in extremely fragile health and both she and both the baby's life and her life are in danger if they are not taken care of properly! So Imlie, who even before getting saasuma's acceptance got responsibility of searching her place Adi ke bacche ki zindagi, will focus on Malini's health, (since uske mann mein kisii ke liye bhi baer nahin, only daya hai) as will the rest of the Tripathis, since there is a nanhi si jaan involved (apparently!!). Imlie cannot tell anyone that Malini's faking it, since that will come across as really insensitive and she has already promised that she will be chhotu's mom! The symbolism is probably the chooha, that she couldn't even let a chooha come to harm, how on earth will she ever let her badi behen aur uska bachcha to come to any kind of harm. I think that's how this will play out. Sab Imlie ko bahu toh maan lenge, but attention Malini ko hi milega. That's what will happen, I think!!

So weirdly, I do understand Tamil, Timepassing and I completely agree - yeh Malini ke chakkar main innum rombhu jasthi kodumain pakka vendirkum. But because the makers have kind of desensitized us towards her OOTness, I am still okay with whatever they throw at us.

See even if we take your scenario into consideration, if they need to move the story ahead, they will need to do something to show that Malini is willing to even kill Imlie off to get rid of her - that is like the ultimate stage, after which she will do a complete about turn and become positive again.

Which was why this thought came to my mind as well - that Malini will try to manipulate Imlie to do something bad using the baby as a pawn, but again, there is when Adi's bharosa will come into play. Adi will not believe that Imlie can do something wrong or insult his family without a very strong reason, which will pave the way for him to finally learn DD's truth - if it goes in this direction.

After so long, i am back to watch again for Adilie. I don't want to stop watching again because of DD. She is really irritating and i really feels that thry need to close her chapter for now and focus on other family stuff. How Adilie are growing as a couple after such a big trauma and in their professional life too. Trp will be high.
