2) I had the same thoughts too. I chalk it up to once again writers using the wrong statements, generalized statements or controversial statements but not actually meaning them therefore they are not brought up again or they're contradicted in a later episode. 
This happens too frequently for it to be a character issue. It's just the writers don't know what they wrote 3 episodes ago or just don't know how to communicate what they think the character is actually feeling or they just want to be controversial. 
For example, the whole EMA convo Ren was referring to wasn't explicitly said as an EMA. E only wanted a place in R's life, she never said in which capacity. They deleted that whole convo. That scene was either just to rile up fans to get them to watch = controversy, or they don't understand what they implied when they had E say that = don't know how to communicate effectively to the audience. I agree with you on this just like Raghav’s emotions mein beh gaya🤦🏻♀️
Or they're on some serious ganja and don't know what they're writing.
