Lol, I'm sharing this for laughs but my mum always tells me she wished she had a MIL that was like those torturous ones in tv because she wanted to become a bravery icon but my gran apparently was harmless. I get where you're coming from with the aunties.

I personally don't care about accessories beyond aesthetics but the general mindset about a whole massive set of accessories being given importance gotta change. Maybe then they can see past the perfect appearance and think about whether expensive items make up for the hardship they go through.

On serious note their chemistry kuch alag level ka hai. It connects with people who don't even like romance. Just seeing them together is oddly comforting which is why we have offscreen shippers and also people still rooting for Fatejo.

girl this! agar mar gaaliyan hi khana hain- much better from a hot rich bewda drinking whiskey and putting you in silk and diamonds than ugly impoverished desi tharra peene wala bewda jiske paas baccho ko roti khilane tak k paise thik se nahi hote. the latter is still the reality of most of india- in our middle to upper middle class privilege we forget that and pretend we've become some high tech middle class heavy economy. thats a bubble of illusions.

Lol almost my mom's entire in laws were cartoonishly stereotypes of in laws. Mom however comes from a very traditional family and it's not any issue for her. Tho good thing is, my dad didn't let her stay with joint family for too long, they moved away after a week or so.

Accessories, love them a lot. But in desi cultures problem comes when it becomes a respect issue, like you've to give this amount of gold... Or else you don't respect the groom and his family. People brag about how much jewelry they've gotten from their families. Daughter in laws get treated differently according to the dowry they've gotten.

And you know things become way more complex because this is the only way most women get any share in their parents property, otherwise it goes to boys only.

One of the reasons itv ain't gonna bring any change... They can't even show reality. Almost all shows are based around a mega rich house... Aise kya saare log billionaire bane baithe hain? They don't even show middle class people properly... Middle class people don't have 3-4 bedrooms in a city. It's like they're ashamed of who and what India is
