Firstly, this topic is going to be closed soon. Discussions on members and moderators aren’t allowed. So jisko jitna raita phailana hai phaila lo jaldi 😆

Secondly, you are right. Other members should not be penalised for some idiots who spread hate. Discussions on hot topics should be allowed and members who violate COC should be penalised immediately in an ideal moderation system.

However, like others have said before, moderators are hard working people who aren’t paid a thing. They are volunteers with a life of their own. It is a full time job to sift through threads, judge where discussions are going wrong and penalise only the ones who create mischief.

I don’t know why these people can’t be paid for the critical work they do. For that matter, I don’t get why someone would even do this kind of work for free. I won’t. The moment something free starts taking this much of my time and attention, I better be paid for it or I am out 🤷‍♀️

Many forums that were thriving years back with mature discussions are now dead. I can only assume that’s because people are not allowed to discuss freely within an ancient moderation system that is dependent entirely on volunteering work.

Keeping that aside, if people knew how to keep discussions respectful and civil, then this volunteer system would have worked easily. But unfortunately, some never moved beyond third grade in school, where they required a Class Monitor to keep them in check.
