Observe that:

Alok is the most excited person when it comes to birthday celebration.

Devi is the matriarch. She let everyone believe that Tej is the head but the way she was shsh...everyone, evn answered that they will not participate in the college party, as if we are above such celebrations.

Shaurya avoids his birthday and any celebration since it is more than a decade he has been absent on the D-day.

BM has to show that she has special greeting for shaurya after everyone has wished him, mentioning removing any obstacles, but Shaan comes and spoil everything, bringing in being asked to divorce Aastha. Now BM is the most selfish person, turning the responsibility onto Shaurya by mentioning she only asked for what Shaurya wanted and wanted him to confirm it. Just as well Shaurya did not answer, but his mood was already spoilt in the morning.

Now to come to his office and seeing Anokhi passing off a bouquet as something from Aastha must have made his blood boil. Anokhi in all her innocence was thinking of pleasing both mother and son, but the tables were turned.

Poor girl, she did say sorry and genuinely did not want to spoil his day, unfortunately for her the day started badly for him and he took out his anger on the bouquet and by inadvertance on Anokhi.

The dialogue where she tells him you will always remember me on your birthday is spot on, but saying you will not be able to celebrate your birthday without me in the future is far fetched...

Shaurya is definitely sorry for his act and he was genuinely trying to help, but anokhi being Anokhi was now all in aastha jaap mode and expected him to understand the feelings of a woman especially a mother. Why say such things to your Professor when you have only heard aastha version, she does not know anything about the relationship of Shaurya aastha (is ever there is).

The party in the evening will bring about a change in the behaviour of Shaurya as he realises he should not have kicked her out of the classroom.

Time to watch Shaurya and Anokhi in the fairy lights next...

I dont know if KV was tired here or Shaurya was pretending to be happy because the entire 'kya kehna' sequence looked fake on his part. It felt shaurya had no hope in life.

How does Devi claim to love Shaurya when she is still playing games on his birthday?!

I noticed for the first time he touched shaan's feet before tej's...is ther a shift in the relationship? The moment whenshaan wishes him to be happy..and that awkward hug makes you feel bad for both of them. They love each other but do not know what to do with their extremely damaged relationship.

Anokhi's idea was extremely foolish and its called meddling. Angry shaurya is just...crazy! He was just angry at everything and flowers and anokhiji took a hit!. HE SHOULD HAVE APOLOGIZED!...as a viewer you can see he is guilty but the sorry should have come. Anokhi should have walked away but she gave another lecture of 'understanding your mother'...WHY?

This is also the beginning of that 'thing' they have when they push the other person away when they are angry.

I really liked the subtlety of Vicky and Babli. they way he knew but did not offer to be her hero. He asked her to walk away. Be her own person ❤️

Yayeee... SURPRISE SHAURYA! (He is having a very angry day clearly!😆)

Devi knows he is angry and takes pride in'knowing' him, but does not know his heart at all. A drunk Shaan knows better. Shaurya's guilt is eating him and his eyes are searching for Anokhi. The way they showed both staring at each other. The subtle eyelock and the OST playing. the scene was really cute!

Side Note 1 : The cake thing was cute! Felt like an indication of how Anokhi might know Shaurya..or how is is more logical than sabs

Side note 2 : The prediction Anokhi made in his office about no celebration happening in future without her...i know they wanted to foreshadow but it was too OTT🤣

Her dialogue s were weird. I was as shocked as Shaurya. Ye kya bol rahi hai

A happy Sabherwal family busy preparing a surprise for Shaurya. All was going well till Shaan made an appearance. Was he not notified of the surprise or was he late because he was soaking in sadness? Whatever, the father son scene has enough power to transform the happy jolly mood to a glum one.

Anyway I could not feel the happy mood they wanted to create through the song as the person who is supposed to happy is internally sulking for all reasons known to us.

Bm… why? She has every right on Shaurya and can shower all her love but why the mention of Astha when not needed knowing how it affects her beta. And Shaan added to it.

Astha…. Why??? Inspite of being well aware of Shaurya’s hatred why encourage/let Anokhi to even make an attempt to convince Shaurya? Just because of his hospital visit?

Anokhi… why?? I’m not as mad with Anokhi in this episode compared to the previous one but still after all that has happened why did she even think of trying to approach him? Just because Astha mam texted her? And Astha who could live for 25 years without meeting her son is so desperate now? Why? That too after seeing his outburst..

Anokhi’s plan backfired… did she think he doesn’t recognise her writing? And Shaurya definitely hasn’t learnt to deal with his anger .. May be he never was in a situation where he was so mad at someone( except his father though). You learn to deal with your emotions only when you experience them. Till now he has only bottled up his emotions. However I felt it was a bit too much to throw the vase. He knows he made a mistake and shows concern.

Anokhi… the way this girl speaks with him baffles me.. from no where does it look like a professor student conversation. In the whole conversation one point still puzzles me.. why did she say that a day will come when he will/ would want to celebrate everybirthday with her and he is left 🤔 just like me… okay I get it when she says you will remember me on your birthday.. he will remember because he hurt her but the last point is out of my understanding. If anyone understands please expand on this one

Shaurya was physically present but his mind and heart were only searching for Anokhi as he is drowned in guilt for hurting her. When they stared at each other I felt there was some sort of pull towards each other in their eyes..

Shaurya's birthday starts! His 29th birthday changed his life!

The Sabherwal celebration at home was soooooo sweet. And following that up with the celebration at SIAC was so cute. They do love him in their own selfish way. But he didn't celebrate his birthday for 8-12 years. I wonder what he did on those days? They played peppy songs like "Kya Kehna" and "Buddu sa Mann"🥳. I liked Shaan's blessing of "Hamesha kush raho" and Devi's "Zindagi me sab kuch badiya hoga".

I really dislike the Shaurya and Anokhi scene in his office. Anokhi was overstepping her bounds and Shaurya's anger was rightfully directed. He didn't need to throw that bouquet to make his point, but she was the one that was in a place uninvited. I hated her lecture about "ek aurat ki emotions" and asking him why he was angry. She has no idea about what this man has experienced and Aastha was using her as a tool to get closer to her own son. Why does Anokhi think that Shaurya should care? Aastha has admitted to leaving her son behind(whatever her reasons are). Why the eff should her son give her an ounce of thought? It was all too much for me. And then after her injury, Anokhi played the victim and wouldn't accept first aid.

"Aaj ke baad, aap apne har birthday pe mujhe yaad karonge.....aur ek din aisa aayega, ke aap ke birthday, mere bina celebrate nahi hoga" Sounded ominous and like foreshadowing. This dialogue makes me believe that ShaKhi wasn't supposed to get together for a year or maybe they were to be separated at his next birthday. Or maybe the writers were trying to be dramatic!

"Doosro ke wajah se khudki khushi par compromise nahi karna chahiye" A great line to live by!

Side note:

~ I did not appreciate that Gayatri(and Kanchan) was being nice to the people that almost kicked them out. Did they get amnesia? I would be passive aggressive af!

~ I don't know if it's just me, but I was always taught that when you do paer chuna and take blessings, you always do it with the right hand. The left hand aashirwaad feels weird.

~ How does Shaurya remember Anokhi's handwriting so well to recognize it on the card?

~ During the office scene, Shaurya called her Anokhi. Was that the first time? He normally says Ms Bhalla.

~ FYI: The cake was an economics textbook cover(Paul Samuelson and William Nordhaus); on it's 19th edition now. I googled it!

@ bold: I observed that too. Shaurya's day started off with the mention of Aastha and divorce. Then to see someone in his office uninvited annoyed him. Then Anokhi lied to him and tried to lecture him. Wrong place, Wrong day, Wrong time! It was a snowball effect. And more things are coming to cause an avalanche of anger!

Sooooooo I agree that maybe a sorry was in order, but his actions after were more apologetic that a mere sorry. In the case of Anokhi, she said 'sorry' twice to him....for being in the office and for lying; but her actions after did not showcase any empathy. I agree words matter, but to me Shaurya's genuine care trump Anokhi's empty apologies.

I loveee when they play the ShaKhi tune/song.......but I really dislike eye closeups. Their eyes speak better with facial expressions(to me!).

It was very hard to tolerate Anokhi during those episodes. After all she is just a student and has no rights to speak like this with her professor. And Astha is not 100%right. So without knowing the facts Anokhi was lecturing Shaurya.

I know he was sulking but it was nice to see them care about him and want to do something for him. I think Gayatri’s was the most genuine wish with the aarti and not doing the tikka. She's the only one that genuinely seems to care for him, with no agenda.

You're right that he probably never learned coping skills. He had no one to show those feelings to. Devi seems to want him to be her perfect son too. So all these messy feelings of his has been pushed out. Anokhi is like a digger that is bringing up all those feelings.

As for the vase throwing, it probably wouldn't have been a big deal if Anokhi wasn't in the way. It's like when you get mad at someone and you tell them to take whatever they brought with them so you're not reminded. I don't think the respect for phool lecture was needed from Anokhi.

Anokhi's dialogue was too lofty. I think it was meant for foreshadowing, but the show didn't run for a year for the birthday to cycle back.
