Anupamaa is as regressive as she is progressive

The episode where Devika tells Anupama that she's just as regressive as she is progressive is completely true. Anupamaa wants to prove she's a new age modern woman, but finds it insulting if someone tells her that she's allowed to be with another man after getting divorced.

Why does a woman have to be against her own happiness because of societal norms in a tv show? Because only then can the audience accept her happiness, when its given to her by her ungrateful family. A woman who takes control of her own happiness is an exaggerated antagonist like Kavya.

Also, for all of Anupamaa's talks about being progressive, she fails to understand one simple thing: Respect is earned. Being old does not mean you deserve respect. The way this woman keeps defending her vile mother-in-law Baa is just insane. This woman says whatever she wants and faces no consequences.

Toshu's recent rant towards his family was complete bullshit, except what he said about Baa. Every word he said about her was on point. If Baa learns to keep her mouth shut, half the problems in that house would be solved.

Anupamaa keeps defending this atrocious lady and keeps teaching her children about "bado ki respect" but why? What the hell has Baa done to deserve respect? She is literally the epitome of "Kyuki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi."

Adults don't deserve respect for simply being adults. Aging is a natural process which cannot be stopped even with science and giving people medals for growing old is just dumb. Baapuji is the real OG and deserves respect because he knows how to give respect. Baa deserves nothing except her disgusting son's downfall.

Anupamaa seriously needs to understand this and stop promoting this "respect your elders just for being elders" bullshit.

Anupama can ask everyone to respect her baa just because she is elder and same anupama announced kinjal can’t go to meet her mother just because rakhi is crass woman as per anupama!

Isn’t Leela is also crass woman? Anupama can expect from everyone to be respectful towards crass Leela but she announced her daughter in law will not go to visit her mother rakhi anymore!

I mean anu was at her hypocrite best in that episode. On one hand she talks about women empowerment and respect your elders, value your relations principle but on other hand she goes on to insult her samdhan, bans her daughter in law to see her own mother, insults the guest in her house with that gangajal drama🤪

And tbh i dont think rakhi insulted any elder. Sitting on someone else's jhula is not an insult. And if that necklace was so important than why it was carelessly placed on that jhula in the first place. Then rakhi did played with the necklace but she didn't intentionally threw it and she also apologized for the same. Yes she didnt have the courtesy to herself pick up the beads or join the others when they were doing so but that doesn't amount to such a big crime that anu pulled all that drama.

Basically writers ko jab anupama ko faltu ki strong dikhana hota hai tab rakhi ko 1 din ke liye le kar aate hai , anupama kuch bhi blabber kar k rakhi ke sath bhidti hai and isse writer ko satisfaction mil jata hai ki chalo kisi ke samne toh anupama strong dikhi otherwise humko toh pata he hai anupama ki kahi bhi kuch bhi chalti nahi hai 😆
