My husband is in state Bank. When my daughter is three year old he took transfer to a remote area as field manager . He has to help village people get aware of loans and other provisions provided by SBI. He liked that and took it as a challenge to reach the target. I could not accompany him since I am working as lecturer ..I asked him whether he could rethink about his transfer,he said no. Well said Lakshmi. What Sai did was not something to be proud of but the way they ate showing in the serial as if she made a such sacrifice is so wrong . One cannot meddle with spouse career . Let’s say there was a role reversal , if Virat had meddled in her career then it would be termed as domestic abuse but when it’s other way around it’s treated as some big achievement. These serials are made for women mostly for lower and middle class women who want to watch their dreams being fulfilled through these characters . Generally in our society , women are oppressed and most want to see women being the super women doing everything right and being called perfect . Just like how movies are made for men serials to fulfill their fantasies serials are made for women .
Now coming to online audiences, it’s not a straightforward thing here . The love for the character is based on so many things not just characterization. The actor playing the role and his online activities , his personal life equations and his equation with previous show co stars make a huge impact. The love for Sai Joshi and Sonakshi got from the pseudo feminist was mostly because of the dislike for the actor playing ML . Shaheer was at the radar back then for his involvement with Indonesian projects and his association with Ayu ting ting . The disappointment Soumya fans felt for sinking their ship was shown on Shaheer . For Virat , it’s because of his personal life and his association with the actress who is paying a vamp and her real life personality. I am telling you if Neil was single or married before the show the situation would be different. That’s one part of it but again even online audiences think they are very intellectual and they want to view everything with a tinted pseudo feminist glass to make them look themselves as progressive .
Then there a small portion of online audiences who lack brains and blindly follow all the controversial theory haters come up with and then they team up with them to bash the characters. Sometimes though they don’t feel it they just nod their heads to stay in good books of these online friends .
It’s a sin to expect fair treatment for ML and being those in the minority group is a curse because we need to face disappointments in every track
