I don't think it would be as dramatic, but I think the purpose of the ex is to stir up feelings of needing to progress in their relationship (otherwise, what's the point - it's already been shown time and time again that they love each other). Not to prove a point or be "one up" over the ex, but more so to be like "wait, what are we waiting for". Though I suppose if it were to happen this way, it would be after the ex actually left.

I get it but then why show Raghav desperate in Aai’s room in presence of psycho Mandaar when after coming back home these two had to behave like ‘Bro’s’ to such an extent that another ex is needed to ignite their hormones? 🤪🤣

What kind of tadka it is . Nothing makes sense these days.
