The Kings need a win desperately to strengthen their chances of qualifying for the playoffs.

The previous clash between these two teams took place in Ahmedabad earlier this season. Punjab Kings could muster just 123/9 after being put in to bat first. Kolkata Knight Riders then made light work of the chase as they got home in the 17th over.

Since the resumption, KKR have won three out of four matches. On the other hand, PBKS could win just one out of three games. The chances of qualifying are still there for either team. But KKR’s case looks far stronger than that of PBKS. But it’s a must-win game for both sides.

KL Rahul is amongst the top run-getters again this season. His knock would define the fate of PBKS’s innings. The stature of Venkatesh Iyer is growing with each game. Along with the batting, he is emerging as a useful bowler too.
