Pompeo recalled Washington telling her, “‘I’m the director. Don’t you tell him what to do.’” Apparently, she didn’t take kindly to her director’s...direction. “And I was like, ‘Listen, motherf**ker, this is my show. This is my set. Who are you telling?’ Like, ‘You barely know where the bathroom is,’”

And he didn't retort with " okay you racist bi**h " ? Such a classy guy...

Even if the black guy is an Academy award winner and is in the director's seat he has to endure racism from these showbiz people...

Unpopular opinion - I dont like Ellen Pompeo,she's taking "This is my show thing" too far. Lots of women have been showrunners/producers, she's not the first

So she produced 81 out of 383 episodes...

Originally they wanted her to pair up with Isaiah Washington, but Ellen wanted Patrick Dempsey cz she didn't want to be in an interracial relationship on her show cz she was in real life

Director is supposed to be the captain. 100%. EP was an arrogant little b***h. But how is what she said racist? You could just as easily call DW sexist because he wouldn't listen to the female star of the show when he might have listened to a Tom Hanks or a Leo Dicaprio.

Also, Shonda Rhimes, the producer/showrunner, is black.

FYI. Denzel won for acting, not directing. Fences, a movie he directed, was nominated for best picture.
