The makers are just showing mirror to how the society actually functions. You may not be able to relate to it because of your own experience and surroundings.
But a girl crossing 20's and being unmarried is still a stigma. In every family function, that girl would have to face raised eyebrows, random relatives trying to be match makers, constant gossiping , speculations, as to why is she unmarried, does she have a past, is there anything wrong with her etc etc.
I have seen this so much around and therefore can completely relate to every dialogue of Priya. I felt her pain when she said " Mai koi charity case hu".
Even in workplace, all people are not decent. Students do take interest in teacher's personal life. And i know the extent to which they can stoop low, because i have firsthand seen my fellow collegemates passing worst of worst comments on female teachers.
I know from where Priya is coming from. Her dialogue in the promo where she says "ab tak college me shadi na hone ke liye comment karte the, and ab shadi hone pe comment karte hai" . This is nothing but pure truth .
I don't think Priya made a big deal out of nothing. What she has been through is not an exaggeration but reality. No matter how much strong face you put up before the society, a part of your self esteem is affected and the day you finally get married , you do go through a whole lot of emotions, it is very normal.
A lot of women, who have gone through this would be able to relate to Priya.
