I always thought discrimination on basis of color is reserved for girls.. given in India, nobody cares about a guy being fair skinned… but may be in PS land… the guy is also supposed to be fair… honestly this is very weird … given their mother is not fair skinned … she has beautiful features but not beautiful as per society conventions….well she is not the one doing discrimination… so i don’t know… but I do believe in tall dark and handsome … Actually looks are secondary… I am always a Chandler Bing fan …😉
Its definitely much worse for girls.
Like, if a judgmental person would look for arrange marriage matches, a guy's earning capacity will take precedence over his looks. Same way, a girl's looks would be given more preference. (yes, its revolting, but sadly true for some people
And in Shiva's case its much worse cause society calls him a "naukar" and all his brothers are "gentlemen" and he has married someone "out of his league." Hence he gets judged more harshly. I am sure if he was an "MBA topper" people wouldn't care about his complexion.
But it definitely happens to boys as well.
When I distantly recall my school days (not distant because I am old now, but distant because they are not fond memories), I was bullied a lot in middle school(best school in the state, but this was the reality), simply because I didn't fit in. I was ugly (I say ugly because of pimples and oil and stuff), and a nerd. I definitely recall the same thing happening with boys too. The "popular" group of boys were all conventionally attractive boys.
Same thing when I moved to high school, things automatically became better because eveybody in my class was nerdy (we were biology students after all). No one's looks mattered anymore, cause all of us fitted with each other.
Same way, I am sure if all of the brothers were less educated, or all of them were dark skinned, or Shiva were married to a supposedly ugly person, nobody would care this much.
And high five 🖐
I love Chandler too!😆
